With how well he knows how things work and how long he's been playing, I would be surprised if he didn't respond with some at least attempted improvement.

That would indeed be fucking sweet if we could get Scott here. Give him the C, nuff said. I mean, I don't see it ever happening but it is fun to think about.

Scott has done everything possible in hockey. If he finds himself bored with retirement, he will find a way to come back just to play.

I hope Rivet's scratching will inspire another defenseman to right his game, Myers.

By "didn't play that bad", do you mean on the "Rivet scale" or in normal NHL terms?

Rivet played better to the point a two game scratch taught a lesson for veratan NHL players they still play at specific levels of expectations.

I feel that Rivet isn't 100% healthy at all. He just doesn't have it in my eyes anymore.

and who even cares anymore, he's almost certainly gone next year, and he's pretty low on the list of glaring problems for this year, HE'S not the guy who's supposed to be scoring after all.

This is a good point, but it assumes we're throwing this season in the trash. The captain is the first guy to try to help you get through a funk. If he's playing like crap, and not inspiring anyone, then he is hurting us RIGHT NOW. If he doesn't respond to the benching, then we have to hope he is benched permanently , and his captaincy removed soon, before this season is a wash.

Someone mentioned it in the game day thread and I thought it was a good point. How can he go into the locker room and shout, scream and motivate when he's sucking big time ont he ice? If my captain cheer leaded shit like "We gotta be better! Work as a team" Get chances!" and then goes out and plays like garabage I'd have a hard time taking him seriously. I just don't see how he can do a good jub as the leader of our team while playing like he's borderline retarded.

Yes, English is my primary language. I doubt it is of importance in this topic.

Reading the recent posts of Rivet still having anything left, I think he still does. It is not full of something we expect. Whatever he has left may be enough to inspire some guys on this team. He is not good, but he is not bad definitely.

What? How is asking him if english is his first language being a dick? There is absolutely nothing in my original post which lends itself to you interpreting that, the way he phrases his sentences made me think an asian language was his primary tongue, and that english came second.

Nice job jumping to conclusions though Jordan.

Sorry man it sounds like you had some sarcasm on the go there. But now that you know that English is his first language how does your comment look? Sorta like an insult. Why make any comment at all?
