Myers is a -12 now. What's the record for worst +/- in a season?

Our stats are weird. Our PK sucks this year, what happend? Basically the same group of guys can't kill penalties anymore.
Our shots on goal ratio per game is good. At least it should be good enough for a 0.500 team.
Our stats suggest that our goalies suck

The +/- can fluctuate a lot higher or lower depending on how you play. Some guys gravitate around single digits + or -, while others take off in one direction, ultimately finishing as high as Jeff Schulz of the Caps last season with a +50 or as low as Patrick O'Sullivan of the Oilers with a -35.

Sometimes the +/- is a predictable number, like when the player really blows and it's obvious, while other times a guy with a good rep mysteriously develops a shitty +/-. I've never been a big fan of this rating, as it often does not tell the whole story. Bad linemates can really fuck your shit up. Very odd stat category. How is it that Montador (1 goal, 6pts) tied for 3rd in the league in +/- with Steven fucking Stamkos(10goals, 20pts)? Need I say more? Tyler Myers is dead last in the league at #669 with a -12. You know who's #668? Patrick fucking Sharp of the Blackhawks! Interesting footnote to this: Sharp & Stamkos are the only players with 10 goals so far. Fuck +/-




No, the chemistry is totally different with the additions and subtractions over the summer. You might think there isn't that much of a difference between the newer players and those they replaced, but that dynamic is often tenuous and screwing with it to improve it can potentially blow up in your face. How much that chemistry change has impacted Meyers is an unknown. Could be a combination of teams figuring him out and the different pairings.



SOG can be deceiving. If you are taking bad shots that can easily be seen by, say, TIM THOMAS IN TONIGHT'S GAME, then your high SOG total only contributes mightily to the goalies save percentage for the night



You got me there. While Miller will get his shit together, it's not likely he'll have as great a season as last year. Of course he shouldn't have to have last year's numbers for the team to win. That's where all those other guys wearing hockey uniforms come in.

Lindy is as frustrated as everyone but (it seems to me) that he is still holding out hope that Miller will come back and save the day. He definitely took responsibility at the end....

On the other side, we have more proof that Bucky Gleason is still a fucking asshole. Who asks a coach if they think they should be fired? What answer did he expect? Yes?

That's a question for Darcy, not Lindy. You won't get a real answer out of him either, but that's the person to ask if you're going to ask it. Asking Lindy that is just Bucky trying to piss him off.

And I hope it does. I hope it gets Lindy so angry he takes it out on the players. Lindy doesn't deserve the shit product on the ice.

What do you expect out of a columnist? You SHOULD expect something like that. Bucky isn't a reporter, he writes columns. He's the NHL equivalent at the Buffalo News of Jerry Sullivan with the Bills. People hate Sullivan, but he's doing his job as a columnist to put out there on record what's going on. They're meant to draw negative ire. If you don't like it, then they're doing their job extremely well.

Yeah, Bucky's a moron... Wouldn't expect anything less from him. Other than Bucky and Jerry Sullivan, I respect the other guys over at TBN, but I thought they were a little too confrontational with Lindy last night. I didn't like how Harrington worded his question about Lindy not benching Connolly.

Paul Hamilton was an ass last night too... He was bitching about how the players already took off for the showers before he had time to interview them, and the questions that he asked Vanek and Connolly were stupid and insulting.

Lindy is right. It doesn't matter what his opinion is as it isn't his decision. I liked how Lindy turned the question around at Bucky and Bucky said, "My opinion doesn't matter." Right on, Bucky. Maybe it's time for YOU to be fired, you sad excuse for a columnist.

Hockey Night in Buffalo

Don't be fooled people.
I heard Lindy was being talked about from Vancouver to Miami today.
From what I've been told by a couple of friends, the frustration he showed in this post game presser is being keyed in on by fan bases across the NHL.

The Sabres have shocked many, including other teams, with just how bad they are, and the consensus from what I'm hearing from friends in other fan bases is that Buffalo is going to make some big trades in the next couple of weeks.

Just letting you know, its all here-say of course, but I tend to take stock in what others, outside of WNY hear about our team and what they think is the most likely direction based on objectional observations.

Hell, one of my really good friends is in Miami and he thought it was a huge mistake for Buffalo not to go after Horton this off season. And he was correct.

You all have seen me post for the better part of just over 2 seasons now.
You all know my feelings on the current team.
I don't like to say "I told ya so", but hell folks, I told ya so.

Lets move beyond this and start looking at what this organization plans to do with certain players, cause whether you like it or not, believe it or not, changes are coming to the Buffalo Sabres in a huge, huge way.
