In layman terms, Ruff is saying the team is beginning a new season. No team is making the playoffs unless it wins. If the team wins, it will qualify toward making the postseason a game at a time.

True. The whole "5 pts out of..." thing can be deceiving. Such a trajectory at this point in the season is...not good.

They don't just have to completely turn their play around, they also have to count on at least SEVEN teams in front of them suddenly starting to tank. And unlike the last few seasons, the games-in-hand is not on their side, as they've played the same or more games then almost every other team in the league.

I don't blame Lindy for trying to "bravado" his way out of this making such a prediction, but this isn't an ABC Afterschool Special (remember those?).

Eh, maybe not depend on them tanking, but the Sabres will need to post a consistently better record.

Have some faith in your team and your coach, still a shit load of hockey to be played. You know damn well that the players heard what he had to say and if they don't respond then its their fault. Our team is way to talented to just stand by and let shit flop and be like fuck it 10 games in. This team needs a good kick in the ass and saying this team WILL make the playoffs is just the flint and tinder to get a huge bonfire to roast their asses up the standings right now. Its up to the players to execute and finish, we have those people we just have to do it.
I'm glad Lindy said those things put the pressure on the players. Win.

He can still be a partial owner, I'm all for him and Big Tommy G keeping the team in Buffalo, but he really needs to back off and let the GM do their job and let them run the team. It's a reason you hired that guy, if you think you can do a better job fire Regier and do it yourself Quinn, if not, back the fuck off and let him do what he is paid to do.

Ah, but you see, that's not how Quinn works.

Quinn can sit behind the scenes. and interfere with hockey operations all day. He'll never admit to doing that publicly. If he ever has to fire Regier, he'll simply say that he gave Darcy all the resources he needed, but that he just wasn't getting the job done.

Whats Quinn's Email address, I want to email him a thousand times a day until he finally gets the picture we know what shit he is up to.
