The boarding call before has to contribute into that. 2 mins for boarding, then comes out of the box, and blind sides Perron, it is what it is. The NHL made a rule to take away hits to the head, and blind side hits. His shoulder makes clear contact with the head, its a rules violation. Thorton may be tall, but he's still gotta make a conscious effort to avoid any contact to the head.

Yeah, I thought Thornton went way higher than he had to on the hit.

They had Thornton on the Sharks broadcast last night, being interviewed during play. I found that awful weird.

They were comparing it to the hit on Toews last year, and they claimed that hit was a clean hit, which it clearly wasn't either.
