Now it's no surprise that Olbermann would be contributing to Democratic candidates, or want to anyway, but I'm still surprised that he would do so knowing full well it's a blatent policy violation under his employment.

I'd be willing to bet that more than just Olbermann have done this or are doing it, but it's still funny when a TV blowhard gets embarrassed in the process of being a hypocrite (considering his criticism of FOX's Rupert Murdoch for his contributions to the Repub Gov's Assoc.).

Now don't anybody start jumping on me, because it would be just as funny and enjoyable if O'Rielly got caught doing the same thing.

The difference here is that MSNBC is showing that they still have journalistic standards by punishing someone who does this.

MSNBC has a rule that their employees cannot do this without permission. Olberman broke it. That's all. He's going to look bad because of his criticism of Fox doing it, but he'll have to live with that.

It's worth noting that Fox has no such rule.

I'm also not a fan of this 'libs eat their own' wording. This is not political infighting. This is Olberman breaking a rule and getting punished for it. Should be start a 'conservatives eat their own' thread every time Rove and Palin get into a war of words?

I'm sure there will be lots of ammunition for a "conservatives eat their own" thread in the next few months/years. Repubs and Tea Partiers will be at each other, at least with DeMint in the middle of most conflicts, as they argue over policy and ideology.

Lets follow the BIG money shall we?
GE (parent of MSNBC) PAC contributions: 62% to Democrats, 38% to Republicans

Viacom PAC contributions: 62 to Democrats and 38 percent to Republicans
.
.
.
.
.
News Corp PAC contributions: 54 to Democrats and 46 percent to Republicans.

And did you just try to assert MSNBC has or is trying to retain "journalistic integrity"?
Come on...I'm not going to start an argument here, but of all news organizations, they're the Fox News of the Left. Actively campaigning for Democrats....Barack Obama gives me tingles up my leg MSNBC?

There already has been plenty of fuel for that type of thread. Example is when Palin spoke with a CNN reporter after a rally and said (paraphrasing, just woke up and too lazy to find the quote): "If the GOP doesn't get on board with the Tea Party they're through"

Seriously, this shit is old

You want a REAL example of "libs eat their own"?

Nancy Pelosi will seek minority leadership in the house.

That is a gift wrapped present to Republicans for the next 2 years.
Why would Obama allow that? He has the clout to stop her.

First, the tea party should be better defining themselves and their differences with repubs. All I've gotten from them is that they want to curb gov't spending big time. That sounds fine to me, but how and what else do they have on their agenda? Apparently many in the tea party are against becoming too consolidated due to a fear of becoming what they are against - another gov't entity that doesn't listen to constituents but only a partisan agenda. At least that's my impression.

Second, if they are going to dig their heels in over some issues and not budge they will be just another cog in the machine that prevents anything from getting done at all in Washington - with either of the main parties.

I would comment more specifically if I ever paid attention to anything Palin says. I've seen her make some spot on comments before, but she's not a major contender for any significant conservative based position, and shouldn't be for obvious enough reasons. I will pay attention to John Boehner, Rick Cantor, and Mitch Daniels if he ever chooses to elevate from Indiana Governor.

I saw this a day or two ago and wondered when it would make its way on here. Seriously, kudos to Olberman for donating to Jack Conway. Rand Paul is a fucking nutjob.
