after thinking about it for a little while, i think that vanek goal tonight, is in my top 5, team starting to warm up, 0-8 at home, fans desperate to cheer and be happy, a gorgeous GORGEOUS double deek, and BULLSEYE, overtime, vanek, DONE.......this one i wont forget for a long time!

It was a great moment, and against the Caps makes such a sweet thing as well. Vanek just dialed up and phoned it home in OT.

Vanek showed a leadership moment last night whether people realize it or not. He performed as a "clutch" player in a "clutch" situation. Kudos to him.

Is it something that will lead to consistency with confidence the entire team can feed off of?
It dam well should be, but we'll see as the games progress.

Hockey Night in Buffalo

A great moment it was but will it spark something within in this team...hmmm, we will have to wait and see. I'm not convinced that this will be this seasons defining moment.
