Miller practiced today, and said in his interview today that it's nothing he's worried about, and that he just wants to make sure he's at a high level every night if he's going to play.

Whatever. If Miller going down defines the season (and we're 99% sure it does), we're pretty much fucked.

There are a lot of teams that'd be pretty uncomfortable with their starting goaltender getting hurt.

Like, all of them.

Oh. My b. If you're starting goaltender goes down, it's no big deal, no matter who you are.

lol, not what I'm saying. Yeah, it sucks. But a lot of teams out there dig deep and find ways to win. We kind of did that with Enroth up, but I don't know if we can trust our team to gut it out over more than 2-3 games.

Certain teams have a 1/1A situation, and it wouldn't be the end of the world if one went down for a period of time.

Some teams would be in a world of hurt though if their #2 had to carry the load, no doubt about that.

Some teams have a #2 carry them into/through the playoffs.

Most teams have a star player that seriously puts a dent in their success if they are out of the lineup. Good teams find a way to overcome it and win without them. The team played pretty well when Miller was injured a few weeks ago, but we all know that it's imperative to have Miller in the lineup.

Enroth was also sent down, I guess that means that Miller is close to returning?

I really fucking hope that Miller isn't trying to pull a Rivet.

there are teams out there whose best goalie is their backup!
plenty of good goaltending out there, some teams have plenty of goaltending. the sabres have an ace in the hole, an average at best back up, and a youngster who looks like he could swim, rather then sink. i am comfortable handing enroth the keys to the car for a little while, if need be.

You mean play through an injury?

I think it might be the opposite. He said he felt good today, but he's still not going to rush back or say when he's going to be ready because he wants to make sure he is completely 100% before he goes back in net.

But who knows...I guess time will tell.

Tuuka is not better than Tim Thomas, Mike. He has a terrible GAA.

Thomas has been the better option for them anyways this year.

Well the whole injury rumor going around that he'd need surgery is 100% false. I don't know where it started, but he had tightness in his groin, and told the staff. They basically shut him down, fearing it would get worse without rest, and groin injuries for a goalie can end careers, or atleast derail them something awful.

So unless there is a new invasive procedure to cure groin stiffness (giggity) I'd say that surgery is out of the question.

I love Buffalo Sports rumors, Miller could have had a hang nail, and some yahoo would have suggested he needed his hand amputated.

Just let Enroth go. Let Miller get some rest. Don't want to ruin his career.

Hmm...where have I heard that before. Oh yeah, here: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=4833

Well you wanted Enroth to get more playing time. I just don't want Lalime to be in, and I don't want Miller to worsen his injury. Enroth played well, so let him run with it until Miller is 100%.

Enroth proved 2 things when he was up here, he's only as good as the team in front of him; and he can out play Lalime most nights.

Other than that, well, jury is still out. I do think he's gonna be much better than anybody imagines he will be by the time he hits 27.
