No, it's there. It's not gigantic, but it's still nice. She just needs to stand up straight.

Matt Barnaby cracked a joke on twitter about Connolly having a black eye because Roy punched him. The rest of the world decided to treat that as a Walter Cronkite Special Report.

So I have Connolly on my fantasy team (yippee) and this is what the update said for him today:

Quote:
Tue, Nov 23

Connolly, who is expected to miss Wednesday night's game against Pittsburgh, has found himself avoiding rumours that he is nursing a black eye that he suffered after an altercation with teammate Derek Roy, according to WGR 550 AM in Buffalo.

Recommendation: It's the kind of story that you have to think where there's smoke there's fire. Connolly will not address the question, while coach Lindy Ruff and Derek Roy have differing explanations. Just another strange chapter in a strange first half of the season in Buffalo.

(Rotowire.com)

I would love it if this was a result of Timmy being a lazy douche and Roy getting in his face about it. "No officer...she uh.....she hit her eye on a door knob"

The joke is older than that. It first popped up on Twitter during the Catwalk. Barnaby didn't say anything until the morning after or maybe this morning.

You know, it is interesting. Lindy sounded like he was struggling for words during his morning interview with Howard Simon.

What kind of stunt results in a black eye? That's a very localized area to hurt in something like a fall.

It's odd.

maybe the hooker he brought to the event got out of line, and the exchanged punches?

Well, a good shot to the nose can also cause a black eye. Hell, if you punch someone hard enough to break their nose, they'll have TWO black eyes.

That said, I choose to think that connolly's nose was the highest part Roy could reach with his fist...

Oh, btw, I got a black eye from digging with a shovel... So... It's either I'm retarded or black eyes aren't hard to get.

I fell while snowboarding, elbow jammed into the ground and I uppercuttted myself right in the nose. Broken, bloody but buzzed enough to keep boardning all night! That was the third broken nose.

as a kid, while playing backyard baseball, i fielded a ball hit into a white faced hornets nest. i got stung about 15 times. i rolled on the ground trying to get them off me. i felt one land on my nose, and to keep it from stinging me, i kneed myself as hard as i could in the nose. broken nose + 2 black eyes. and alot of wasp stings.

There are millions of ways people can get a black eye. I chalk it up to Connolly having too much to drink and doing something stupid and hurting himself. Maybe that's why Lindy had a hard time finding the right words to explain what happened. He didn't want to flat out say, "Connolly was being a drunken fool."

Connolly and Roy were on the catwalk together before Connolly had the welt on his eye, and they were on the catwalk together again after Connolly had the welt. They were goofing off and having fun with each other.

I don't get why people are holding Barnaby's ~rumor~ with such high regards anyways. I mean...it's Matt Barnaby.

Roy fisted Connolly at the Catwalk. It was mis-reported as a punch.
