In the 3rd, the Devils are leading Washington 5-0.

That would be the NEW JERSEY DEVILS.

After getting clocked by Staal tonight, I'm sure Matt Stajan is thinking the same thing. Looking for the video now.

Edit: Edit: Found it...

Jesus those hits are scary! :?

What a clean hit though. Looks like he got whiplashed because his head thankfully didn't hit the ground.

Wind knocked out of him probably too.

I dont know if Staal just got lucky, or if he did it on purpose, but great shoulder to shoulder hit, and way to come across the face and avoid contact with the head. That is how hockey is supposed to be played. Clean hard hits are fine by me.

It looks like he made contact with Stajan's far shoulder, giving him whiplas due to contact (a la Soupy/Umberger). What a ridiculous hit. Just crushed him.

I first saw this hit as I was leaving work last night on the lunch room TV. The view they were showing looked a little suspicious to me as being a bit of an elbow. But after seeing some different views of it in this clip, Stajan was destroyed cleanly while admiring his pass.

Still, when you see a guy go rubber-neck like that from a hit, clean or not, that shit is scary. A lot could have gone wrong with this hit. Not saying Staal was in the wrong for throwing a retarded awesome hit, just saying Stajan should consider himself lucky that he was able to (somewhat) make his way off the ice under his own power.

I believe this hit, in your terms, would be a killdozering, no?

Also Stajan was really lucky his head didn't slam into the ice since his helmet flew off his head also.

Yessir, that's a textbook killdozering.

Interference. Stajan had released the puck .02 seconds before he was hit.
