Hey guys, I'm sure many of you have noticed but Miller is currently 30 votes behind Howard for the sixth goalie spot in the All-Star game. I know Howard has been far better so far this season, but let's show Ryan our appreciate for his dedication to his game last year (when there was no all-star game). He worked hard to try and bring a championship to Buffalo and we should be grateful for his efforts.

Honestly. Im going to be brutally honest. Dont vote for any sabres. They need the break from hockey.... dont force them to keep playing. get them rested especially for the Sabres push for the playoffs...

Every time I've voted it's been frustrating because NHL.com loses all of my information and makes me go through the registration process again.

I'm on board with what Rut says.

Problem is, even if they don't get voted into the starting six, the captains can still pick them for the ASG teams anyways.

They obviously detetcted that you were a Sabre fan and sent you to the internet version of the penalty box. Although it probably took you more than 2 minutes to fill the form in again.

And herein lies the ego clusterfuck that will fester on some teams after they're overlooked by a teammate for some other joker.

Bad, bad idea.

I agree with this.
Its time these players started focusing on the "BUFFALO SABRES" and not the Olympics or All Star Game.

Ryan hasn't played like an all star.

I read somewhere (can't remember where) that the NHL chooses the remaining all stars. At the all star game the captains will select their team from this pool of players.

EDIT:
from NHL.com

Quote:
From a group of 100 players on the ballot, fans will vote for their top six All-Stars by position without regard to the Conference in which the player plays. Fans will also have the ability to write-in a player of their choice. As with previous All-Star games, the remaining 36 All-Stars will be named by the NHL Hockey Operations Dept. for a total of 42 All-Star players (3 goalies, 6 defensemen and 12 forwards per team).
Following the selection of All-Stars, NHL Hockey Operations will designate 12 NHL rookies to participate in the Honda NHL SuperSkills® on Saturday, January 29 for a total of 54 NHL players taking part in All-Star weekend.

* After the 42 NHL All-Stars have been selected, two captains will be chosen per team by the players.
On Friday, January 28, 2011, a fantasy draft event will be held in Raleigh with all 54 NHL players (42 All-Stars and 12 rookies) during which the captains will draft the remaining members of their respective teams.

I think the All-Star game is boring...the only fun part of it is the skills competition. I don't really care if Miller or any other Sabre goes or not because I barely watch the game anyways.

Hmm, well the form did have you choose your favorite team...

The only Sabre that deserves to be in that game is Roy, but definitely not in the top 6. And yeah, I agree with what fly as hale said regarding the Skills Competition being the only interesting part of All Star weekend...I could really care less about the actual game.

From the looks of it, Carey Price is probably going to end up being the starter anyways. Amazing since Habs fans seemed to want to hang him last year...jokes.

Either way, fan voting doesn't necessarily have much of an impact this year besides the starting lineup. Whoever ends up being the captain of each team gets to pick the rest of the players. I think they're still doing it where at least one player from each team has to go, so it'll probably be Roy since he most deserves it out of him, Vanek, and Miller.

It's not like our votes have no effect:

Quote:
"Captains for each side will select from a pool of players chosen by a combination of fan balloting and the NHL Hockey Operations Department. The change in format is a joint effort by the League and the NHL Players' Association."

I'm gonna choose to believe that players who go to the all-star game are still capable of winning Stanley Cups. Go Miller.

I think I voted for Miller, but I might have voted for Mikael Tellqvist. Sorry.

If anyone on this team deserves voting, it's Roy. I'd love to pay him back for bringing his game up to the level it's at by voting him into the all star game.

the way i've been voting though i would swear it is not registering my vote.

Forwards: Carter - Stamkos - Kane
Defense - Byfuglien - leopold
Goalie - been throwing votes around Thomas is performing quite well. threw a couple millers way.
