Malkin has struggled a bit lately, but he is absolutely an amazing player. I would instantly trade Vanek for Malkin straight up or Vanek and a pick for Malkin.

I really do think Malkin needs his own team to run, he proved he can do it when Crosby went out and down.

QFT but you know if he can become disenchanted in Pittsburgh he can become that way anywhere. But it's true, he gets second (sometimes third) pickings of wingers that aren't overly talented to begin with, he doesn't run the power play, and he gets bounced to the wing a lot. And I have a hunch that he is wired to be the aplha wolf, and would thrive if given his own team to lead.

You must like to throw the dirty player label around rather easily, Malkin's not even on par with a Tomas Sandstrom as far as dirty euro-trash. Most of his penalties are just stupid. He's also way more physical then you think, but like all euros pond hockey is the #1 preference.

Yea even at Vanek's worse spots, i'd rather have him than Malkin.

Malkin plays zero defense and his best goals are off of cherry picking. He does have good vision for passing, but so would you with the pen's lineup.

Vanek seems more like a team guy as of late than Malkin.

Wow, you guys really don't watch him play that much. Understood. I'm pretty sure he has lead the league in takeaways every year he's been in the league, so even if that doesn't make him a good defensive player, it does show some effort.

At some point you kids need to decide what's more important to you, Lady Bings or Stanley Cups. Malkin's got a Conn Smythe.
