stafford may not be the player many thought he would be when he came up and exploded. but staffs a good player, adds depth scoring... hes not great, but hes good. he can easily be a 25 goal, 25 assist guy, year in, year out.

Pretty straightforward question I have for you all. How do you think the Sabres will do on Friday after their longest layoff of the season? (Maybe the longest since the Olympics within a season?)

What do you think? Will they come out rusty and ill-prepared? Or will they come out on top of their game and raring to go?

I know I'll probably watch the game will more emotional intensity. I'm hoping they play it that way too.

It all depends on how hard they worked in practice, because if they put in the effort, they should be flying in the first.

Stafford could have been a late bloomer also. We seem to remember the guy is only 24 soon to be 25 is all. This is the time he should start to explode. Who knows though. If he keeps up his production this year at the same pace, he'll have a pretty good season.

I held my predictions only because the way things have gone this season, I wasn't about to put myself in a position to either have a shit eating grin on my face, or to eat a fuckton of crow. I play my cards safe :P

After tonights game, I think we saw a bit of a flash back to the days of the Aud with tonights win. Couple fights, all 3 of my fav jerseys scored tonight (Ennis, Vanek & Pommer) and Miller was awesome. The team completely showed up tonight in front of him from what I saw (Thanks, MSG. Bastards). Granted, it was the Jackets but hey, a win is a win is a win.

2 Pts look mighty nice in them thar standings now, don't they? :P

Columbus isn't exactly a pushover. They came into the game 5th in the West with a 14-8-1 record, not to mention that we torched a goalie that's put up 3 shutouts in his minimal amount of starts this year.

I was really impressed because Ruff said the Sabres worked a lot on offense and transition in practice, and it certainly showed.

Me too. I can't remember the last time I was so pleasantly surprised by their effort. A thorough ass-kicking. Glad I was so wrong.

And this was only the 3rd win out of 11 times against the Jackets all-time.
