Hasn't been pretty - No goals and 3 assists in 18 games. I'm hoping that when Staff or Connolly get back, the water bug gets sent back down for awhile. They really need this guy to be more of an offensive spark.

Honestly, I thought last night may have been his best game. Maybe he just needs a few to go in to get on a roll? His lack of production does frustrate me a lot.

He's not here to bang. He's not here to grind. He's here to score.

Either he starts doing it, or he needs to go elsewhere. He's been almost invisible.

at this point, id rather leave mancari in his spot and send gerbe back down when one gets healthy.

Mancari brings more scoring, and is twice as big as Gerbe. I'd be fine with this.

One has 8 career NHL points, the other has 9. That's not exactly a rousing 'more'.

But Gerbe has more time with the big boys, doesn't he

no, but gerbes played alot more games, if im not mistaken.

i think at this point, its time to call a spade a spade, and thank gerbe for his effort, but send him packing for portland.

Gerbe has played more games, yes.

I still fail to see how Mancari brings 'more scoring'. Mancari is simply a bigger Gerbe.

His size does hurt him. Speed can sometimes make up for it, like Tyler Ennis proves, but Gerbe doesn't have what it takes right now.

And I have to say, it's laughable how small he is compared to Myers and Gaustad, you can barely even see him.

i think that if you have to play one, and neither is scoring at a solid pace, youd be better off with mancari. thats how i feel.

I'd agree with that logic. I'll take big Gerbe over little Gerbe any day.

Doesn't the fact that Mancari is bigger make him a better option? And wait, Gerbe has a 100 MPH slapshot? Also, Gerbe has played 38 NHL games. Mancari has played 17. They have the same number of goals.

I'm not willing to totally give up on him yet, because he's done some things out there. But he needs to start scoring NOW.

I guess. I mean, if a guy has size, you'd kinda like him to use it, at least a little bit.

Mancari is the size of two Gerbes, but hits like one Gerbe.

We already have lots of big guys who don't score. Adding one more doesn't change much.

What about a little guy who can't score?

At this point I'd rather have Mike "Fucking" Ryan than Gerbe...Gerbe says and does all the right things, but has proven one thing to me, unless it's an NCAA caliber goalie, he can't fucking put the puck in the net. He's willing to shoot, he's proven that, but he's in capable of beating someone that's on his own level.

AHL Stud, NHL Dud...Much like Craig Charron (R.I.P.) Great AHL player, never quite an NHL player. Nothing wrong with that, except when you stick a guy like this on an NHL roster and say, now go score 70 points like you did in the minors.
