It was front wheel drive.

Definitely want to go with all wheel drive this time around. Make some recommendations.

What's your price range? Any additional requirements besides AWD? Any preference towards automaker, power output, etc.?

Edit: Sorry to hear that, you had just purchased that didn't you?

Retail price cap of $35K.

I need something fuel efficient but fun to drive. All wheel drive. Space for my hockey bag.

Yeah I just bought the CC in February. Shit happens. That's what insurance is for. :D

There are quite a few options.

If you want to stay in the VAG, there's always the Audi A4. You could get a nicely equipped model in your range, has the 2.0T as well.

Subaru has a very good AWD system, and has a lot of models that fit right into your price range.

Suzuki's Kizashi is pretty nice, has a great AWD system that rivals Subaru's. Has a CVT transmission with the AWD. You can get a well-optioned model under 30k. Motor Trend just drove one from Japan to LA, across some real nasty terrain and it held up really well.

Do you strictly want a car, or are you open to Crossovers and SUVs?

I'm open to crossovers and SUVs. I was kind of interested in the Tiguan. The CC was the first car I've ever owned. I've always been an SUV guy, and I kind of missed the space I had in my Jeeps.

The one thing I didn't miss is the poor gas milage.

Volvo S40 :D

I really like the Touareg, not a big fan of the Tiguan.

Or you could buy a Charger. Can get ~30MPG with the a Predator tune, intake, and exhaust, and will still bring you in well under 35k.

BTW, those looks like some pretty nasty road conditions...was it caused by ice?

Only one option my man.... SU BA RU!!!!! Legacy Spec B ... or the 3.0R if you are an automatic kinda of a guy...

Bottom line when looking at AWD cars... only 2 companies have been doing it longer than anyone. Audi and Subaru... the Audi's while decent and "refined" really suck balls when they brake... and simply cost way to much to fix... Subaru's are much easier on the wallet. I have seen countless Subies go well north of 200,000 miles... Ive owned 2, a 2000 2.5RS that I kick myself every day for selling and a 2002 Legacy wagon (sad sad day when i had to buy a wagon, but i needed it for work).... and both of them were simply bullet proof... My sister in law has a 2000 Legacy she has had since new and in 11 years and 100,000 miles other than brakes, CV boot and transmission cooler line that rusted out this year, the car has not had one issue...

I can't say enough about them, really just a nice, solid, reliable ride!!!

Those are good enough for Lamborghini and they're good enough for Audi ;)

oh don't get me wrong I love the R8... S4 (V8, not TT)... they have some sweet rides, but I don't have the money for an R8 or S4, let alone the money to fix them if they brake... Now if the Audi isn't a daily driver or if I have a back up car, I may consider... But for a bullet proof daily driver give me the the Legacy Spec B (2.5 turbo with happy suspension), or the GT turbo or the WRX and let me have lots of fun... even the H6 is a nice all around motor if you need an auto...

Yeah, they can get pricey.
I had a former boss who had a not so modestly modified RS4. He once told me a weekend at the track usually ran him around $9k between fuel, tires and brakes.

Then again, he was a millionaire.

if I was gonna go track day-ing and was a millionaire... There is also a company working on a V8 hayabusa Atom... basically grafting two busa motors together to create a 500 hp monster and stuffing it into an Atom...

and the turbo V6... and x bow.... love the x bow, but thats not coming to the US

That would be a blast, but I put those 2 cars in a different category I suppose.

They're more like a really expensive toy...they belong on the track only.

My boss with the RS4 used it as his daily driver.

For a commuter rocket ship I have a friend who swears by his John Cooper Works Mini Cooper S.

I've got another friend with a supercharged VW R32 as a commuter...he actually prefers it to his new Audi A8L which he now lets his wife drive.

It's a phrase that basically means, if you wanna see the Sabres at the top, turn the rankings.
