I'm willing to trade Sedin and some other big guns for a goalie guys. Anyone with offensive/deffensive holes, hit me up.

So glad the minumum games played is 2 now, because Phil only had one goalie start last week so all of his stats were discarded and I won soundly.

Lecavalier is back, going to drop Cullen tomorrow so I can squeeze another game outta him.
My spot atop the league ( all except RIT) makes me feel better about my fantasy football team sucking balls in a week I needed to win to get into the playoffs.

So if you are unlucky enough to have some goalies from teams that are trying to figure out who is the starter....and already suck but can squeek out a start every once in awhile.....you now can't even get that unless your goalie starts at least twice in one week? Dude that's just fucked up for teams with shit goalie selections or injuries.

Exactly, I have Varlamov and Boudreau loves spinning the goalie wheel so every other game could be a different goalie.

With 20 people in a league there's no fair way to decide goalie starts.

A mando two games knocks out at least a quarter of the teams from having even a remote chance

But also prevents people from benching their goalies after a shutout and winning 3 stats automatically.

I could have done that and it would have won me the week's matchup before, but I didn't.

I get that and that's good, but on the flip side you're screwing a bunch of teams. Yes it prevents people from winning 3 stats from a great night of goal tending but in a deep league likes our with several teams that have goalies who play only once in awhile.....they may as well as just say fuck it now. Hell, I'm in fifth place and with Elliot and Goran as my goalies, it's a very good chance that one of them may not play twice in one week....which would drop me instantly from the top 75% to who knows. So if that is what happens to a guy that is doing well, people struggling in the bottom 50% should just give up.

In a deep league I think things like hits, blocked shots or face offs won for example would be more beneficial to add than making goalies have a minimum. Make goalie stats less important since only a third of the league has good ones anyhow. Add some stats that defensemen are known for since the D available are more deep than Star forwards or reliable goalitending. What you are doing is widening the gaps between teams with solid starters (who are winning the league anyhow) and guys who got stuck with injuried goalies or a guy who is fighting for a starter spot....thus only play8ing once a week sometimes. Last year was fine to have that limitation since we had few enough people where we each had at least one starter, even if they weren't great, starting and getting those stats counted is better than having a goose egg.

All I'm saying is that we're effectively cutting the feild of potential league winners by a lot and isn't this about fun? I mean, how fun is it to go "Sweet, my goalie actually started!! And won!!!" to only find out a few days later that your stats got tossed. Now, if a guy has say, Thomas in net and he shuts a team down, then is benched for the week to protect stats....fuck that shit. But for guys who have no choice, that's a big reason to say fuck it and not play anymore. What about setting the goalies aloud to two per team so we all have a chance to get a better goalie?

I thought the 2 games minimum means that you need 2 overall goalie starts in a week, in order to make your goalie stats count. I didn't know it means every goalie needs 2 starts. That would really be a bit unfair for some people.
I was the one you wanted the rule changed, but if it affects a lot of people in a bad way, change it back. At least set it to 1 one though, to take away the perfect stats of a release goalie.

I agree with DF, I think hits and blocked shots would be a good thing. I don't get why PIM is a stat you want to win. Since when is it a good thing to take penalties.

You realize he broke his hand and is out for 6 weeks right?

There was a reason I dropped the guy.

The 2 games started only means you need 2 overall goalie starts, not 2 from each guy.

But I wish we had blocked shots and hits as stats honestly. Would be interesting. I wish instead of starts it would have been saves.

That's what I figured. So 1+1 from two goalies does the trick, that seems reasonable and fair.

If I needed 2 starts from each guy I would be screwed.

Hits and blocked shots added would really make the goalie stats be more realistic. In a deep league with the way we have it set right now it seems pretty hard for most people to have a fighting chance. We have a lot of offensive stats and a bunch of goalie stats but what about defensive stats? I know a lot of teams in our league with shit goal tending but great defense...and it's not doing them a lick of good.

Aren't you one of the leaders of the league?
I agree, some defensive stats would be nice, although my D-squad sucks.
I would also get rid of the PIM stat because it's a negative stat in real hockey, except for fighting majors.

I'm in fifth I think. I'm just saying it because it's no fun to compete when you know the other guy has given up....which a few people have already done.
