Hey all!

Last week I was given my Christmas gift from my family, and it was a trip to Buffalo to catch 2 Sabres games and to see the Bills get beat by the Patriots( :( ).

Anywho, this will be my first time in Buffalo, and as such, I'm a bit lost. Do you have any suggestions for good places to eat? How about good spots for Bills/Sabres gear? (That isn't too expensive)

Thanks so much for any help!

Lets Go Buffalo!

Hurrah and welcome!

Good places to eat, holy shit. What's on your mind, there are probably five good places that make it.

Good place to buy Sabres gear? Well, besides the Sabres Store you should hit up any of the malls and go check out Laux Sporting Goods. Same for the Bils.

Make sure to hang out in the Elmwood Village, it's one of the best areas in the city. Tons of local shops, restaurants and bars... Allen Street between Delaware Ave and Wadsworth St. is an area called Allentown which is also an eclectic area with shops and bars. It's a great place to spend a night out on the town to drink.

You should visit the Albright-Knox Art Gallery on Elmwood across Buffalo State College, there's a Sabres exhibit going on called "Forty: The Sabres in the NHL" that's a must-see for any Sabres fan. I don't know when you're coming, but during January, the Stanley Cup and other HoF trophies will be on display to coincide with the World Juniors Championship.

As for going out to eat... You'll have to narrow that down haha. Depends on what you're looking for. Casual, cheap, fine dining, or a certain kind of cuisine... There are tons of great choices. You should browse around the website, Urban Spoon.

Hah, sorry about the vague-ness of the food question. I'll be heading up there on Monday (December 20th), and will stay until the following Tuesday (December 28th).

I'm under the drinking age (By less than a month, dammit!), so bars are not too much of a concern. I suppose I'm just looking for good places for Wings/Pizza/generally unhealthy "sports" food. I know that doesn't narrow it down much, but was just curious if any of you had any stand out suggestions for places that *had* to be seen.

Thanks for the suggestions for gear locations. Someone else mentioned a place called "Dave and Adams", is that worth a stop?

Pearl Street Grill, Coles on Elmwood, Gabriel's Gate on Allen...those are all good places to get food like that. Gabriel's Gate has great wings. Pearl Street has a huge menu and is a huge restaurant. The gouda soup is really good. And Coles is just a really good restaurant.

Bay-6 in the Southgate Plaza has some good Sabres stuff, I don't think they necessarily have anything Reebok but they have unique stuff. Have you ever seen the I <3 Hockey shirts? They have them there. The Southgate Plaza is not that far away from Schwabl's that Mo mentioned, if you were interested.

I prefer Duff's over Anchor Bar for wings. I haven't been to any of the places that Fly mentioned.

Also, where are your seats for Tuesday?

They sell them in the galleria too as well as a bunch of shops in Elmwood.

Bay-6 is closer to me than the Galleria or Elmwood. They have other cool Buffalo-themed shirts there too.

I just went last Wednesday the 15th and the mall in Cheektowaga is pretty good for Sabres stuff (kind of picked over though)but if you are looking for a jersey go to the arena store, all the jerseys are 20% off right now. I got a new blank third for like 99 bucks including tax.

Spoiled Rotten on Elmwood is where those shirts originated.

If you are traveling by car, going to Duffs is a must. It's in Amherst, which is about 10 minutes outside Buffalo.
