you've misunderstood it. 1 - withvanek.percentage not even withoutvanek.percentage

the 2 percentages have nothing to do with each other.
but I fill up the 2 cups for you:
(0.624 - 1) * -1 = 0.376
(0.461 - 1) * -1 = 0.539

He's predicting our winning percentage with Vanek on a hockey line and with Vanek on a Gerbe line.

Percentage in this case must equal to 100%, or 1.000. None of your figures come close.

Take the number of games played with Vanek, and figure out winning percentage. Then, do the same without him playing. Count overtime and shootout losses as actual losses.

This isn't really a predictions thread. I'll make it one.

1/1/11 vs. Bruins (7-6 W/SO)
1/4/11 @ Avalanche (4-3 L/SO)
1/6/11 @ Sharks (3-0 W)
1/8/11 @ Coyotes (2-1 W/OT)
1/11/11 vs Flyers (5-2 L)
1/13/11 vs Hurricanes 3-2 W
1/15/11 @ Islanders (5-3 L)
1/18/11 vs. Canadiens (2-1 W/OT)
1/20/11 @ Bruins (4-2 W)
1/21/11 vs. Islanders (5-2 L)
1/23/11 @ Islanders (5-3 W)
1/15/11 @ Senators (3-2 W/OT)

The schedule is pretty nice to us, with only one back-to-back, albeit there is the second swing of the west coast trip. What's also nice is that we get the Islanders three times. Sure, they're not gimmes... but they're what a lot of us would call winnable games. It'll be an interesting month.

My guess? 6-4-2
Current January Record: 8-3-1

I updated my predictions post. Really good win tonight by the team, gutting it out until the end. Both Vezina trophy winners had a shaky game, though.
