...who's your back-up team, if any?

Way back when the Rangers had Mike Gartner, Ogrodnick, Nemchinov, Amonte, Graves, Leetch and our own James Patrick...Vanbiesbrouck and Richter in goal I really pulled for them when Buffalo stumbled out of the playoff race. I've stopped pulling for them for several years now since Callahan is the only player I like on that team.

That leaves me with Minnesota and Vancouver as the only other teams I root for. I'm going to try and stop watching every single Sabres game for the rest of this year, and just watch them when it's convenient. I might be able to do this without therapy if watching Minnesota and Vancouver can provide some excitement. This doesn't mean I'm not a Sabres fan anymore, or less of a fan. I just want to make better use of Center Ice by watching hockey that doesn't frustrate me or piss me off when Buffalo stinks it up. Anyone else going to follow another team?

I always liked Minnesota for some insane reason, but I gotta go back to the Penguins for two reasons:

1. I Fucking HATE the Crapitals, and I want the Pens to embarrass them at the Winter Classic and eliminate them, yet again, in the playoffs. I don't seriously care if they win the Cup, but the more they play the more games I get to go too.

2. 24/7 has got me remembering how much I like the Pens role players, like Talbot and Rupp. So I'm definitely rooting for those guys! I'll always be an Orpik and Kunitz fan too!

I watched Colorado and Edmonton last night and decided those teams are pretty fun to follow. The players actually get excited when they score, which is refreshing. Not like Vanek or Pominville.

My situation is a weird one...

I hate the Blackhawks but enjoy watching Duncan Keith play. I kind of have a soft spot for the Kings, Isles (just because their jerseys are awesome) and the Oilers because they've got a lot of fresh legs and it's nice to watch fast hockey and really have no ties to it emotionally.

I guess outside of the Sabres, I have a few teams/players I like to watch but no one team I'd really pull for.

Side note; Besides the Oil, I hate every other Canadian NHL team. If Winnipeg or Quebec ever get their teams back, that will change my "Like" stance.

I hope you're joking!

If I jump on a bandwagon this year, it'll probably be for the Avs.

Avs is an excellent choice. I did it back in mid November.
They play decent hockey and have some youth in the line up. Defense is a bit shaky though.
My money is on the Avs to make the Western Conference Finals. Detroit or Vancouver will face them, thats my take.

I'm liking the Tampa Bay Lightning right now. Marty St. Louis is one of my favorite players, and Steven Stamkos is so fun to watch.

Oh yes. I like the Lightning, too. Stamkos is one of my favorite players in the league right now.

Hey that's how Datsyuk roles. You mess with the calm celebration and you mess with Datsyuk, dawg.

Although, his celebrations are not needed because you already shit your pants from his insane move

I've tried to adopt the Av's as my second team since I'm in the Denver area but I have a hard time cheating on my Sabres.

I'll root for who knows. I still believe the West is the far better conference and will win a cup once again.

But, I do enjoy the play from the Canucks, Kings, and some other Western teams.

A former Blackhawks fan when I was younger, I just can't see any good in anything Avalanche related because of the 1996 playoffs. Roenick deserved a penalty shot and he would have turned Roy inside out, hung him from the rafters of the UC by his jock and they would have had to get him down with extreme difficulties. That play single handedly changed that series and I won’t hear any different!

But I'm not bitter or anything
