If there is one thing I know a lot of, it’s dealing with topics like this! :D

A few things with just the jerseys (Minus the lettering) tell me these are legit RBK Premier (Replica) jerseys. The striping pattern on the arms & trunk are nice and thin. I received a knock-off Vanek from my sister for xmas and the stripes are hellish wide. Also, most knockoffs I've seen and have purchased in the past do not come with the RBK size tag sewn on the lower front left. Nor are there the weird cuts which RBK decided to put in the sides at the bottom of the jersey instead of keeping the hem fully attached. The fact these pics which you've posted show all the signs of the same features on my RBK replica I bought of Pommers at HSBC Arena, tells me they are legit. As for the names and numbers: are they thick fabric or tackle twill material? The fake ones use a much thicker material than the pro till lettering.

He may have received a real sweet boxing day sale deal but my guess is that he likely did spend quite a chunk of change on them. Do you have any pics of inside the collars of these? What about the jerseys turned inside out? I know RBK changed their tagging on their jerseys this season because of counterfeit makers getting their hands on the real ones some how. I'll post some pics of my legit road white and my knockoff road white tonight and you can clearly see the difference.

As for why he may have purchased them? Your guess is as good as mine. Tis the season for giving though so maybe it’s just a late gift! This reminds me that now I have to track down a legit road white to transfer my Vanek name and numbers to because I’m an anal bastard when it comes to having something look like the real deal ;)

Sorry the pics are late... Anyway, I give you a real RBK jersey and the knock off...

Real pommer bought in buffalo (I removed the RBK tag from the front and added a fight strap)

Fake Vanek. Note: No pit stains and piping on the back as well. Plus, the retardedly thick arm and trunk striping..

So, they're not fakes, but they dont have the fight strap. Everything else seems legit. So is this the difference between 'authentic and replica'?

So how much is a 'genuine replica' (?) supposed to cost?

For my Pommer, I paid $175.00 at HSBC arena. For the Vanek fraud, they usually go for around $50. from places like dhgate.com, nhlmore.com etc...

Aside from the fight straps, the only things that would put them below an on-ice jersey, would be double thick shoulders, double elbows and that the replica's are made of something close to the Edge 1.0 material. The ones which the players wear on the ice, are made of the old air-knit material which was used before the RBK edge took over, but are cut in the same shape/make as the edge system. Which they now call Edge 2.0.
