I got clock with my cage and helmet on buy another guys chin basically and damn I felt it for awhile and my jaw hurt for a week or so.

I don't have a problem with Mancari coming up just to see what he can do. You're not losing anything by slotting him in for Gerbe.

I just don't care for the idea that Mancari should come up because he's a 'better hockey player'. That's just not true.

G, A, and Pts per 60 minutes is more telling than the same per game.

Gerbe - .31g, 1.03a, 1.34pts per 60 minutes of icetime.
Mancari - .52g, 1.04a, 1.56pts per 60 minutes of icetime.

The difference is a little more pronounced, but its still largely the same level of production.

I too think Gerbe should go down... or up... depends on how you look at it... to Portland. Maybe start scoring there and get some confidence back. Mancari could get some time here.. Give him 20 games or so and see what he can do.

Play well for a few games and then poof, disappear. This could be his one real shot, one where he could play more than 4 or 5 games and then head back to the AHL.

Except that he's had plenty of real shots in training camps and hasn't made the cut.

Doesn't matter. He wasn't called up anyhow.

All other things being equal, Mancari brings size and a shot to the table. Gerbe brings a happy meal.

Yeah I understand that, mostly the fact that someone within the organization thought Gerbe was not only a legit NHLer, but apparently worthy of playing with Vanek and Roy gives me a huge lack of trust in our scouting department and player evaluation.

Well, to be fair, putting Baby Gerbe on the top line doesn't reflect on the scouts at all. But I get your gripe.

Yeah, and I'm not one of those fans where I'm going to think I know better than those intimately involved with the organization, but to put it simply...what the hell? Who decided it (Vanek - Roy - Gerbe) was a good idea to begin with, and the who decided that it was still a good idea (Vanek - McCormick - Gerbe) after it hadn't worked at all?
