I do like that they'll get some rest, but it still makes me sad that we won't have someone to cheer on. I also think Vanek should have been selected for it ahead of Elias or Backes.

That seems about right, though I haven't seen the rosters, so there could be less deserving players on the team. Vanek hasn't really played like an all-star IMO.

I'm fine with that. Vanek hasn't played nearly as well as he is capable of, and the same can be said of Miller. If Roy hadn't gotten injured I think he would have made the roster, and that would have been deserving. But, oh well.

No one on this roster deserves to be called an all-star for their sub-par play. Maybe if there was a place for defensive d-men in the All-Star game, Montador would go but that's about it.

I dunno, if Roy were healthy he would have probably made it.

Vanek could easily be on that roster, same with Leopold; but hey, so goes life, wasn't like I was going to watch the All-Star game anyway.

Having no Sabres on the all star roster is why we should support each team being represented. Then again, the all star game needs the best players in the league to play for one night.

Gotta agree with most, there really wasn't a Sabre that deserved it aside from maybe Jordan Leopold. Roy was playing well, but it doesn't seem like he's really All-star material. Maybe above a couple players on the list, but meh.

i just read on the official vanek website that he got the call after the ottawa game but had to decline because of his flu. didn't see this mentioned anywhere so i thought i'd bring it up.

damn would loved to have seen where he got drafted and his participation in the skills comps
