My experience with astrology has been a beneficial one.

It's okay to be skeptical of something. But I've found that the universe is far too strange of a place to deem anything impossible.

It's not that I'm skeptical, it's that it's an utter unverifiable crock usually peddled by the sleazy to the weak of mind.
The same with numerology, palm reading, tarot, and any random new-age, crystal powered fantasy.

The weak of mind are the unimaginative; the ones bound by the confines of what others say is real based on what they've been able to prove thus far.

I'm not saying I believe in all of those things, because most of them I haven't had any experience with. But there's been quite a few examples in history where theory has preceded science.

Your comparison is correct if you consider both require an exercise of faith and ignoring science and history, but I don't see how, well most major religions can be called astrology based.

Early Christianity frowned upon astrology. Constantine actively banned it's practice.

The previous videos explain a viewpoint (not going to disregard other viewpoints) that shows how religion is based on astrology.
