Whatever. Sometimes I don't feel like paying $8.50 for a good beer. I don't need to drink the good stuff all the time.

Honestly, I dont think anyone would drink PBR given the choice of solid beer, but when it comes down to Bud Light or PBR...I honestly don't see the difference, they are both piss, and are only borrowed never owned

I have never tried bud light or PBR , does it taste like carlsberg , foster and co or even worse?

Yes. Although not as light-struck and skunky as Carlsberg.
That stuff is garbage.

Never buy a beer in a green bottle and eventually they'll stop making them.

You're comparing beers from 3 continents here. They all taste differently (never tried the pbr though) but none of them are considered a good beer by me. Impossible to say which is worse.

Nothing wrong with a little Beer side bar until after the all star brake... so the summary to try and get back on point...

Pegula was at HSBC... supposedly didn't meet with Darcy (per Bucky)... Darcy and Quinn will stay on through the season (per Bucky)... Bucky has a list he made up of potential GM candidates... and lots of vehicles with PA plates have been seen in and out of HSBC.... Current rumor is the BOG meeting at the all star brake is when Mr. Pegula will get his approval with the announcement to come after the all star brake...

so did I get anything wrong (besides spelling and grammar)?

anything new?

should we go back to beer?

I suppose some people have grown used to massive amounts of diacetyl, but most brewers would agree it's a serious flaw....and most point to Keystone as the primary offender.

I've spoken to the head brewer at the Trumer brewery in Berkeley and I grilled him on the green bottles. The ONLY reason they package in those things is because that's what they've always used at their brewery in Salzburg.
They know it's bad but they won't change because of brand continuity.

I didn't know Trumer has brewery in the US. I thought it's a very local company. Did you like their beer (except for the bottle)?

What's the issue with green bottles? As far as I know beer gets "old" faster in green bottles because it's more exposed to light, but that's what expiration dates are for. Beer has never expired at my home no matter what the date was ;)

I love PBR. That's my cheap beer of choice. Hell of a lot better than Coors or Miller IMO

Yeah, they opened up a brewery in Berkeley, Ca. something like 3 years ago. I got really excited because I wanted to try a fresh, authentic example of a pilsner (because such light bodied beers don't travel well from Europe) but the first time I got my hands on a 6-pack is was light struck and oxidized just like the ones from Europe.
If you can find the US made version on draught it's much better.

Green bottles allow through more ultraviolet rays than dark-amber bottles which allows them to get light struck much faster.
Quote:
What does light-struck mean?
Hop-derived molecules, called isohumulones, are basically ripped apart. Some of these parts bind with sulfur atoms to create that “skunk” character, which is similar in character to a skunk's natural defense and is such a potent compound that parts-per-trillion can be detected and even ruin a beer. Although brown bottles aid in protecting beer from being light-struck, it hardly makes the beer invincible. Green or clear bottles provide little to no protection. And it's been said that bottled beer can become light-struck in less than one minute in bright sun, after a few hours in diffuse daylight, and in a few days under normal fluorescent lighting.

buy beer that's been stored
1. in a can
2. in a keg
3. in packaging that blocks as much light as possible (like a 12 pack carton)

that 6-pack in green bottles sitting in the grocery store display all lit up isn't the way to go.
(unless you like that skunk flavor...I know some Heineken drinkers that actually do.)

Then I have been lucky because I usually buy my beer in a 12-pack carton, but for no specific reason till now :)

Maybe that's why I've never been a fan of Corona.

The Church is great... good food and great beer and the fact that its set up in a church is just cool!

Best part of Hofbrauhaus has to be the outfits the girls are in, good beer and beer cheese... mmmm beer cheese

Fat Heads has some amazing and huge sandwiches... they just opened a location in Cleveland and i think they started brewing their own beer to. And have a ton on tap with a few cask pulls as well

The Sharp edge has to be the Belgian kings... simply an amazing selection of beer! The list I posted earlier came from the Sharp Edge...
