You cant exactly compare Schenn and Myers. They are different players. Schenn is a defensive defenceman. Kind of the rough tough shut down guy we've wanted for a while. But Myers is well hate to say it but kind of like Lidstrom(I hate to say it cause Lidstrom is so good and Myers is nowhere near his level) in the way that he plays sounds positional hockey. We definitely have the more well rounded dman. But in 5 years Schenn will be a Pronger esque dman. In 5 years we have no idea where Myers will be. Because he came into the spotlight late there will always be a doubt(at least in my mind) that he could turn back into the player he was before. He hasnt proven anything yet while Schenn has.

PS - Anyone else think we should just have Rivet and the kids on defence.(Myers, Butler, Weber, Sekera, Grags, Brennan)

I'll take a 7ft tall Lidstrom any day :D

and as cool and interesting as that defense would be (and my god I would LOVE too see Grags up here) I just cant see it happening the way the season has started with this roster

Myers is starting to scare me.

He has total poise and control.

Myers can't be younger than I am. It's just not right.

His Skating and reach and control of the puck was amazing on Kaleta's goal.

I just finished watching the Wings game, and wow. He is jaw droppingly good, particularly in his assist, not even taking into account its his FOURTH game. What was Darcy rambling about again? Does he watch the games?

So we've seen so much of his "D" zone awareness, he is just as potent on the scoring side of the puck. Can you imagin if someone unleashes the beast in this kid and he starts tossing around his frame? Granted there are some guys shorter and heavier, but dear jesus it would be like pissing off the Jolly Green Giant.

Myers is making it hard for Darcy and Lindy to NOT have him stay up this season. And if there were a "Like" option to this, I would click it. :P

He was clearly the best player on the ice last night...Kaleta's goal was all because of Myers. He's just so awesome to watch. There were two little girls sitting behind me with their father and one girl was like, "DAD!! Look how big that player is!!!"

The thing that is uniquely wonderful about his play is that he will be better, the next game. And the next.

To keep that in mind is to marvel at the joy of seeing a player striving toward a yet unreached apex.

We have the ground-floor, first-row view of a Hockey player who may astound the league, in years to come.

And we are fortunate for it. It makes for an exciting time.

when he puts some weight on, and if he starts throwing his weight around....he will be scary good....
no way he goes back to minors...he has to be here to stay....i don't care if he will hit free agent status a year earlier....b/c all we have to do is sign him to a monster contract, ala dipientro & loungo....

that's right if he turns out to be a superstar.....i'm all for signing him to a 10 year contract.....this guy is a foundation to build a team around and win the cup !!!!
