Why would Vanek get his time cut when Ruff feels he's not giving it 100%, but Derek Roy f's up and Ruff says nothing.

I have real problem with that system. ITs funny to me how supposedly Ruff comes down on Vanek and others like an anvil, but practically whispers in Roy's ear.

Vanek wasn't slacking last night. Tried to do a little too much if anything. Too cute on some plays, but he was still one of the better players out there last night.

Yeah Id put TV 3rd on the list behind Gerbe and Ennis... then TV... nothing was even close to bouncing right for the team last night... you'll have games like that... and for sunday, Just go out and HIT EVERYTHING that moves at the start of the game, set the tone early!

Plenty of passengers last night, seems like some veteran guys are in "saving it" mode. Then again, the last time Hecht, Grier, and Neidermeyer all played with a lot of energy, the team was on a long losing streak.

Single out Vanek ehh. He made chances, hit a post and the entire fucking team did nothing in this game. Lay off Vanek. He has 8 points in 4 games, and like 17 in his last 10 games and he has one game where he doesn't score you flip the fuck out on him.

Why does Vanek get this flack for when no one else in the league gets this amount of flack for not scoring or getting a point in a game where he had 8 points in his previous 4 games for?

Seeing we have many pro-Vanek supporters who are okay with him underperforming, when will they realize he is nowhere close to the rank of Crosby, Malkin, and Ovechkin in play? If they can score goals and put up points galore, so can Vanek.

gotta fix that.... Vanek doesn't have near the talent around him that he needs... yes some young guys are getting there (Ennis, Zack)... but Ennis is just getting his grove and Zack isn't even with the big club yet... who is currently TV center? His RW? yeah... he doesn't deserve any flack currently for the pace he has been on and especially in a game where he was easily the 3rd best forward....

Vanek's last ten games, he has 14 points. 6 of those games he had 2 points, and two of those games he didn't score. Pick on someone else who actually isn't performing.

He does dog some plays still, and it can get frustrating, but those are shadowed away by his offense. On his pass to Pommers for the Overtime winner the other day, it took him about an hour to pick up his stick in the slot while our time was cycling the puck in our own end. Did he become 50 years older in a matter of seconds?

But that's just becoming a smaller portion of his game. I have been very happy with the way he has played as of late. With Roy out, I didn't expect him to muster much offense, but he has.

Now if we could get Hecht and Neids to become less useless, we might have a team.

Every player dogs opportunities also.

Crosby has Chris Kunitz and Pascal Dupuis.

If he puts up points better than Vanek with them then he is CERTAINLY WAY BETTER. Vanek isn't Crosby. Never will be. He will never match him with points unless Crosby is injured most of the year.

Vanek has also played with Ennis and Roy, which are two better playmakers than the two clowns Crosby plays with. I like Vanek, but comparing him to Crosby and Ovechkin is just ridiculous.

He also plays with Malkin on his wing quite a bit, and I would take Kunitz on my team over ANY of the Sabres forwards with the exceptions of Vanek and Roy. He's a good hockey player.
