dammit. paul byron has played 2 games, and was drafted in the 6th round.

hold out before we say this kid is "super skilled" and throw all this praise on him. i know everyone wants to believe in the best, but damn. its been 2 games!

and i thought i was overplaying my optimism.

My bad, at least Ennis is.

31 points in 43 games for him in the A 14 goals and 17 assists. That is second on the team tied with Gragnani. Luke Adam and Mancari are the only ones that have a PPG total so far this year.

I really doubt Byron keeps up this level of production. I'd love to see him do it but I doubt he does.

I'd rather see Adam called up, personally. But whatever.

I like Adam as well but lets face it he had plenty of games to show what he can do and at this time he didn't really produce much. I'm not saying he won't in the future but his skating needs some work. Give him the rest of the season in Portland and the summer to work on his skating and his game and he should be ready fulltime next year. I don't mind having a few small guys on this team because you figure Kassian and Foligno will be coming in the near future which should balance the lines out.

Not really, outside of Ennis, Gerbe, Roy, and Byron, everyone else is 6 feet or taller. And all four of those guys have the speed and skill to do some damage. Gerbe is still on the fence with me, but Byron and Ennis are proving they are super skilled, and we all know Roy is already.

The team is not the midget team of the NHL anymore.

I think Gerbe has been playing great the last couple of weeks and looks like he is finally getting adjusted. He has been putting some points up of late and has been playing hard.

Adam has the hands and vision, his speed just needs some work, and I don't mind having him in Portland the rest of the year either.

He had several very good games and the games were he wasn't too standout, he was partnered with players such as Grier and Niedermayer. I'm not sure anyone in this organization could produce with those linemates. Adam showed much more spark when Lindy put him with Ennis and Stafford or on other lines where he actually had offensive support on the wings.

Listen, I know it's been two games. I was just saying that I liked what I've seen.
