I wonder if he still gets credit for a shut out?

Gotta say, that was worth more than a shut out even if it is Cooke you're sticking up for.

As if I could attain a higher level of respect for Johnson....

It's kind of weird how Dipietro looked like he was smiling right before he got punched.

He was smiling. He thought it was fun. Then, all of a sudden, he was in his locker room stall with an ice pack on his face.

Ugh, first of all, Cooke ran into DiPietro as much as Dipietro ran into Cooke.

And why Johnson is being lauded for this is beyond me. He came all the way down the ice to hit a guy who has a history of injury problems. It's like sending a $500k goon out onto the ice to injure a star player. Utterly classless and perfectly emblematic of the Penguins organization. My question: where's the vaunted Pens captain during all this, keeping his guys from throwing cheapshots?

I'm an unabashed Johnson fan from the day I first seen his Led Zeppelin goal mask, everything I've witnessed on and off the ice since then has only solidified that decision. I don't care if he signs with the Flyers, BJ is OK.

Wow you really hate the penguins don't you? If Dipietro had some balls he would have never came out and tried to stick cooke in the face.

heres how i look at it.

i dont think johnson meant to tag ricky like that. ricky had a big smile, he thought it was gonna be a wrestle, shove match. after ricky went down, and johnson was over him, you see johnson talk to ricky, and tap his pad, then kinda a bro shake with dipietro. i dont think johnson meant to hit rick that hard. theres a brotherhood between goalies, and i think this was just a friendly tussle that went wrong.

The captain is sitting in the pressbox injured.

I thought it was highly amusing honestly, especially since I was actually watching the game on TV. Not sure why I turned it on because watching the Pens play the Isles is on par with watching dog shit fuck abortions, but there it was.
