Hoping the ownership change is effective that date and Darcy stays past through the trade deadline, Darcy will have six days to keep his job by making moves. Anything short is unacceptable.

If anything, we should be moving dead weight.
Let the rebuilding happen this summer...it's too much of a tall order to turn it around at the trade deadline this year IMO.

It is not much of a tall order. Wise general managers can clear dead weight while bringing in missing pieces to win. Darcy has done it before, and he will be directed to do it again if he desires to keep his job.

It's going to be interesting for sure. I'm hoping Darcy shows us a new side.

Haha, I figured that's what you meant, but you never know on the internet sometimes.

Malkin may never be the same player again. No way in hell should we pick him up. That's entirely too much of a gamble.

I agree with your first sentence, but man I LOVE Malkin!!! I've been dreaming of the day he puts on a Sabres uniform and I just might be willing to take that chance. Either way, I hope he comes back. It's just all around bad for the NHL if he doesnt :(

We continued to talk for about ten minutes, during which he mentioned how he “loves” Lindy Ruff as coach...

I hope Pegula makes a smart hockey decision involving Ruff and doesn't get caught up in the unnatural level of attachment that fans have for him. If that involves him staying, then great.

Aw, Goli told us we'd win the Cup and said he'd eat a mic if we didn't make the playoffs.

I can totally see people in the future blaming Pegula for making "fan decisions" whenever they don't agree with something he does or if something he does fails. Just like how fans complained that Golisano was too complacent and didn't care enough about the team, fans will complain that Pegula is too much of a "fan" to make smart business decisions.

I've noticed that fans of any sport are very black and white. There is never any grey area.
