LW Andrew Peters has cleared waivers but, rather than report to Manitoba Moose, will retire. His only 2 games this season were in October.

farewell, petey. he gave us quite a few good memories.

Tough-guy left winger Andrew Peters cleared waivers and plans to retire.

His agent, Steve Bartlett of Pittsford-based Sports Consulting Group, said the Vancouver Canucks had asked Peters to report to the Manitoba Moose. But, having played only two games with the Amerks in October, and realizing his role would be very limited, he has decided to move on with life after hockey.

Peters, 30, played nine pro seasons, including six in the NHL.

Thanks Peters...it used to be fun watching you pound people. Good Luck.

For the record, Petey told me he was gonna retire a couple of months ago while I was still at Encore. He was talking about doing "something boring and shitty" like medical equipment sales or insurance. Hopefully he can keep on making a small pittance doing PBP for the NU Purple Eagles like he has a couple of times as well.

Ah Peters, one of my favorite Sabres when he was here. Wouldn't have minded keeping him around, but also wasn't sad to see him go.

He was at Catwalk for Charity this year...and he wasn't wearing any pants. That was more of Andrew Peters that I ever wanted to see.

Good ole Petey. He had a good go and I'll most remember him for the Golf swing reference and the "Brawl Game" against Twattawa. Also, who can forget the whole, "HE F%CKING BIT ME!!" involving Ruutu?

Hope he has a great after hockey life!

Edit: Can't access youtube @ work right now as the IT dept. has it blocked so I can't post the youtube vid. So this will have to do. http://www.myspace.com/video/vid/7409486

Sorry to see Peters retire, but he did not have much fight in him when we needed it the most.
