Rumors persist that Crosby is done for the season, and they will be buyers at the deadline. No mention of any interest in Sabres players at this time. Kovalev and Hemsky are strong candidates.

If they want to make the playoffs it looks like the team to beat this year are the Flyers. Everybody else is beatable. So go for it Sabres!

That would guarantee a Sabres playoff round win vs. the Penguins!

Even though the Penguins trade most of their draft picks away, their depth and system remains very good. Connolly or Pominville would thrive there.

this sounds good to me. sabres, flyers; it's a win/win situation in my book. if it weren't for the pesky western conference...

If the Flyers could lose some games, they could be lucky enough to face the Capitals.

I think we're careening towards a Phi - Nsh/Van cup finals personally.

Shero is improving at drafting but the player development for the Penguins is as good as it's ever been. Rarely if ever does a player look lost when called up from the AHL club. Lestesu and Jeffries are just okay, the former is heavily overrated by Pens fans and Jeffries is a 3rd liner at best. I would rank their prospects in the bottom 3rd of the league, and I think most magazines do as well.

heard that today, under the knife tomm... out at least 6 months (Aug/Sept)... Can you trade for an injured player in the NHL? I heard as long as he isn't on IR... is this true? Id say pounce now if we could... but we may have to wait until the season is over... or at least the operation is over... My guess is ole Freddie Fu will have him up and running in no time...

It's unheard of to do such a thing but I would, simply because he's that much fun to watch. Even just watching him sip White Russians on a beach with his hot blond Russian wenches is more exciting than what half the players in the league do during live games.

The clock is definitely ticking for Malkin's future in Pittsburgh, it looks as if they are more concerned with catering to Staal's under talented enormous ego than Malkin's legitimate talent and appropriately balanced ego.

So much for seeing Malkin in my upcoming first NHL game. Crosby should be back in time for the playoffs.

Don't count on it. I'm sure he might try and stage a dramatic seeming comeback if the team struggles too much, but I promise you that Lemieux is saying to him, "Fuck that garage league and those retarded Yinzers, let's go golfing." And I can't say that his insults are inaccurate.
