Well i moved away from buffalo for the time being, and the only decent sports radio in the morning is Mike and Mike.

Mike and Mike this morning on the radio mentioned Calgary Flames once for 15 seconds. Then the talk went to football again. Then baseball then a commercial. After the break, Football and more Football and then baseball.

They don't care about hockey, they say they do, but they devote 15 seconds in a 4 hour show to hockey talk.

Let me put it this way, the soccer player who killed a person getting into a car accident got longer mention and more air time then any hockey did on ESPN.

So sad.
I miss WGR in the mornings.

I briefly listened this morning, too, and around 8:00am they went on about how hockey is irrelevant until the playoffs because too many teams qualify. They are just terrible radio...I only listen when the Joe Rose program is on commercial.

2 things. one, the soccer player accident was not with him at fault. not that i understand. two, the world cup is next year, and the US national team is going to be halfway decent. soccer has made a small leap in popularity. hell, even i pay attention a little bit.

but the nhl is coming back. remember how it was huge in the mid-90s? i see the NHL ready to leapfrog the NBA in popularity. if it hasnt already. so, pretty soon, youll hear plenty about the NHL. hasnt ESPN expressed interest in getting the NHL back? imagine if versus AND espn played NHL games. it might happen.

I did get the chance to go to a ducks v kings game in 99 though. Teemu Selanne scored the match winning goal.

I don't like Mike and Mike either. What I really hate though is that WGR plays Colin and Rome all day. Neither of them talk any hockey. Once in a blue moon Rome will get a hockey player as a guest, but not too often. I wish they would get rid of both those idiots and play NHL Live. I know a lot of people like to hear about other sports, but Buffalo in general is not a baseball, college football, college basketball or NBA town. Why must we listen to these morons for 6 hours talk about these sports and the NFL all day. The only reason Rome is even famous is because he got beat up by Jim Everett!
