HA! I said Weiss!

I hope so, he would be the long term 2nd line line center behind Roy. Not a devastating 1-2 punch but with the talent the Sabres have on wings they will do just fine.

I don't see why Florida would trade Weiss, they only have Booth and Olesz under contract next year. That's right, only three good forwards under contract for next season. They have a ton of UFA/RFAs and about 7-8 mil in cap room.

Bolland, OTOH, might be available since Chicago has a few RFAs they would like to keep, like Brouwer, Stalberg, Frolik, Seabrook and Crawford (and zero cap room).

Bolland would be a great 3rd line center. His cap number is a little high but he's under contract until the summer of 2014.

ummm it's Florida?! Hello??!! They are fucking stupid, you don't miss the playoffs 9 straight years by having an eye for talent.

What about Regier shopping Butler or Rivet to Vancouver for whatever you can get for those guys. Vancouver is banged up on defense and could use at least 1 or 2 defenseman. Better to get something for those guys than nothing especially Rivet if they can move him.

Someone here thinks we can get a center out of Vancouver for one of our defenseman, which is pure fucking stupidity.

I think the best the Sabres would get for Rivet is a 6th, for Butler maybe a 4th but most likely a 5th.

I would not trade Butler he is solid and versatile.

I never said we could get a center out of Vancouver all i was saying is that Rivet and Butler are expenable with as many defenseman this club has in Portland and in junior. I don't mind this team if they make the playoffs but come on people this team isn't going to knock off the top teams in the east in a seven game series. If the 06 team couldn't what make you possibly believe that this team will. Wake up and time to unload some of the garbage and build for the next couple of years.

that's fine. I was just throwing it out there. I just would like to see some of our garbage moved for something than rather losing it and getting nothing in return. Not saying Butler is garbage but I believe he is expendable with all the defenseman in Portland and in junior. This team needs to look at building for the next 2-3 years. We aren't far away but we do have some players that need to go. Time to give some more youngsters their shot.

That would have to be to a west coast team down at least 2 d-men. Rivet to VAN for a 5th. Done!

Like I said I was just throwing it out there. Rivet needs to be moved. End of Story.

Agree. For a low-level pick, may be the best the Sabres get for him. Just do it. He's gonna retire after this season anyways, I can feel it (it's that obvious, isn't it?).

Only problem is Chris Phillips is probably a goner, and they'll overpay for him before they underpay for Rivet. He may be hard to move, maybe a fringe team with funds, but ya may have to stay in conference then.

Yeah, I definitely see Phillips leaving Ottawa (I've heard the rumors too)

I said it before and I could definitely see it now with the injuries they have sustained, Rivet to the Nucks for a DP.

Vancouver has next to no cap room. The only move they make is for a 4th line center.

It would depend on IR, which works in their favor. If they calculate it right, they'll know how much cap space at what point will be available. Sounds complex huh, cuz it is. They may have already been doing it with Salo. Now they have to make some move though, with Hamhead out.

Bolland is my second choice for center to consider if we are unable to get Weiss. He can still be a second line center, which I hope that is what he is predicted to be.

Florida is going to need veteran presence and improve defensively. Maybe trade Hecht, Butler/Sekera/Weber, a Sabres prospect and pick for Weiss, a Panthers prospect, and a pick?
