We carry three goalies, that means you need to send someone down, and if we do that, we're short forwards since we carry 8 defensemen on the roster, even with Montador injured.

Remember, we can only have 23 players max on the active roster. 12 forwards, 6 defensemen and 2 goalies, plus the scratches. We already scratch two defensemen. And have 13 forwards including Roy, I know he is on IR though.

Than LaLa gets cut, if he clears waivers, you bring him on as a coach or consultant and trade for a real back-up.... Unless you think Enroth can handle it, which Im not ready to say he is yet...

Lala would clear easily. I don't find anyone who would be willing to take him, not even the Isles.

Wonder if fans will be classy in Lalime's departure like they were with Teppo.

I have no issues with LaLa... why would people turn on him, its not him who decided to resign him or him who decides who to play... he is a great emotional support for the team and if Miller wants him around I'd bring him back as a coach or consultant... he's a good dude... i wish him well.... i just want a back up that can play 2-3 maybe 4 games in a 32 game run so Miller doesn't have to be ridden so hard...

If my name was Brad Riter, I woudl invent a sex move called the Dutch Riter. It would involve thick yarn, an intricate pulley system, and a hand crank.

Lindy just told the Howard Simon Show that Enroth is indeed in Montreal and will start tonight.

seriously though, wouldn't the islanders game have been a better game for Enroth to start?

Islanders coming off that emotional debacle against the Pens, a couple guys suspended, their 5th goalie in net... maybe the sabres would have tightened up a little bit with Enroth in net... Miller would not have played 31 in a row and gotten a lil rest...

I think for the most part everyone likes Lalime. He always has been a good guy to be around from what I hear. Yes, he is at least 2 years past when he should have retired. Where is Tellqvist? haha. I'd rather he stuck around instead of going to the KHL.

Tellqvist is somewhere in Europe. And who gives two flying fucks if Lalime is an awesome guy. Dude can't do his job, period. I don't give a shit if he's Walt goddamned Disney, if he can't stop pucks, he shouldn't be on that bench ready to go.

How about a coach who doesn't ride his starting goalies to death?

Lindy is squarely to blame for Miller crashing and burning due to fatigue.

What choice does Ruff have? Lalime has gone downhill substantially even from the start of the season, and bringing Enroth up to ride the pine could damage his development (which would be really bad - ask a leafs fan about Fichaud/Cousineau/Potvin/Pogge) - This is a similar situation to the Hasek years - even with a NHL capable backup (Biron), Dom was still playing almost 70 games a year, Same with Biron in 01-02. It's what has to happen unless you have a pair of guys that can platoon the duties (Biron/Miller) to get the games played down around 50 or so without sacrificing wins.

In this case the 30+ consecutive games is a little high, however the Sabres schedule has been pretty light for the most part - quite spread out (all star break etc..). Brodeur was playing 75+ games a couple years ago without any issue, could be a small conditioning problem for Ryan.

Gotta be honest, anyone would suck at playing a sport when they have played like 3 games in a season and had a Minor player come up and play more games than you.... Last year when they sent Lalime down for to Portland for conditioning he did pretty well after that.... Of course they woudnt consider that again, im not saying we should play lalime, but it really sucks for him, at this point, just buy out his contract and let him go, or just trade the dude away for anything.

Tellqvist played 3 games with the Sabres and went 2-1 with a .928 save percentage and a 2.35 GAA.

That's what people remember. Not his career stats.

You're fine. Didn't mean to snap at you, I just get incensed when I see Tellqvist's name brought up again and again because people have a boner over a guy who played all of 5 games here, 2 of them garbage time fill ins.

My issue with Tellqvist besides not being that great was that he wore #32 when he was here. That number hasn't been worn since Rayzor last wore it and Tellqvist wearing it is a god damn insult.

It should've been retired years ago! :snooty:
