Yeah, Miller usually does respond well after a bad night...but the only thing more ridiculous than 31 straight starts is 32 straight starts. Plus, I think Miller's career record against the Leafs has a lot to do why Lindy chose to sit Miller tonight.

I guess I don't mind it either way, as long as we play well and come away with two wins. :D

Your second point could be true.

As for your first: Miller after losses during the 12-4-2 streak:

2 goals allowed (the game the streak started with)
0 goals allowed
2 goals allowed
1 goal allowed
3 goals allowed
2 goals allowed

Either way, hindsight will tell if it was a good idea or not.

But the physical and mental toll of a goalie starting 31 straight games will still have its effect, regardless of his performance. I think Lindy would have gotten a lot of heat if he started Miller tonight, given the fact that he allowed 7 goals last game and Lindy admitted in his post-game interview that he made a mistake in not pulling him.

You know what, though? I think it's time to admit defeat and waive Lalime to the AHL. There is no doubt in my mind that Lindy more than likely has more trust putting in a 2 X 4 wooden plank in the net with five skaters out rather than Lalime.

I know I'm probably gonna get killed for this, but we have to accelerate the process. Enroth has to stay, simply because Ruff might be able to trust him more.

Yeah i didn't know they play again tmrw, so it makes more sense that they played Enroth tonight. He's a scrapper, another gutsy effort by Enroth!

I like our odds against the Leafs, just BE LOUDER then the Leaf fans! It's your barn! You got the hottest team in hockey to root for! So let's hear what you're made of Buffalo! WOOO!

Actually, I really don't think it matters. Miller is 24-8 all-time against Toronto, and 11-4 at the ACC. I don't think it matters who's louder. Miller owns the Leafs no matter the situation. I think the Sabres thrive under the pressure of Leafs fans. It allows them to play more like a team rather than the cutesy crap they sometimes give us at home games.

As good as Enroth was, the more he plays the more some of his weaknesses/SHORTcomings will be exposed. I see the shootout as one of those areas. Seemed like if you got him going in a certain direction, he couldn't dig in, and his legs weren't long enough to reach the posts.

Master of his domain, perhaps?

My DVR of the game cut out with 10 minutes left in the third for some odd reason. ;HS;HS'HDSAH'DAA'HA' RAWWWR

Enroth looked solid though, kept us in it in the first fo sho. Pissed I missed the 10 round shootout though.

It's on NHL.com.

This was also only the 2nd time that a team has come back and won after being down 0-2 in a shootout.

At this point, I think Lalime is only on this team to relieve Miller in case of an in-game injury, and for a warm body in practice.

That re-signing is looking more terrible by the day.

Yeah no kidding that re-signing was terrible. It was only to keep Miller happy. I would rather have a quality backup to push Miller to be better but that's just me.

I'd like to know what kind of impact Miller's words had on resigning Lalime. I'd like to think that the players and the people who make personnel decisions don't converse much.

So did mine but I realized it right before the shootout so my wife will not be pissed. Versus schedules their games for 3 hours so the DVR cut out right at 10pm.

The thing is, they can keep Enroth going between Portland and Buffalo all they want for the remainder of the season. By doing so, he has his playing skills going. Where all Lalime has is splinters in his butt from sitting watching games and what he faces during practice.

it would just be nice to have a backup that Lindy would trust. It has been a long time since we had one. Since Marty was here.
