I hope this doesn't mean another 31 starts in a row for Miller. :hand:

I'm somewhat OK with this. We're only sending Enroth down simply because it's easiest, and it's cheaper. On top of that, he still gets playing time in Portland, which carries over to the NHL when we need his services again. He's the starter pretty much everywhere he goes, if need be.

He'll be our backup next year...hell, he'll push Miller for the starting job next year.

I highly doubt that.

Nope, only 26 in a row instead. Well 25, you rest him one game before the playoffs start, if we make it.

Whether or not he can push Miller, do you think he'll at least be a "real" backup? Along the lines of Marty?

Enroth is a good goaltender. I'm happy he's been sent back down, though. He needs to continue to play as a starter; not ride the pine.

As far as next season, who knows? I expect Miller to rebound and have a big year, but if things go further south, it's comforting to know Enroth is there.

We also have this guy named Enstrom who plays goalie too. Apparently he won last night.

It depends. Assuming that Lindy plays him once in a while, I think he'll be a very capable backup in the NHL, and maybe a starter for some team down the road.

If/When Enroth is on the roster for good, it needs to be a situation where he gets 15-20 starts per year. If not, he will likely regress which is why, at least for now, the best place for him when not starting for the Sabres is in Portland. I see Lalime almost as a player/coach at this point in his career and he will probably only be used in the event of injury.

Tough situation with Enroth. He's not going to supplant Miller as the starter anytime soon, and as a backup, he'd get very limited playing time. He looks like NHL starter material to me.

He's a RFA at the end of the year, so it will be interesting to see what kind of qualifying offer he gets from Buffalo, or if he gets offer sheets from other teams. I wouldn't be surprised to see some teams come knocking at the door with a decent offer sheet for him to be a potential starter, but more than the Sabres would be willing to pay him as a backup or minor leaguer.

Would the Sabres want to keep him for maybe 2M/year, or would they let him walk without compensation?

I'm perfectly fine with this. Enroth gets starting minutes in Portland, then gets called up to fill in for a fatigued Miller. Works for me.

You're delusional if you think Enroth is going to be getting any offer sheets from any team to be a starter in this league.

Our only RFA that someone would even consider is Stafford.

And the suck ass Buffalo media is starting up the hate machine..

Getting into work mode. I think Ryan Miller has some tough times ahead. Enroth's play turns Miller into someone we evaluate by the dollar.

Really? Enroth has played 7 NHL games, Miller over 400. This insinuation that Enroth is going to supplant Miller is just moronic.

Yeah, I was literally about to post this tweet. I told him pretty much what you said, that it was one game of Enroth's compared to the hundreds played by Miller.

I swear it's like they refuse to talk about things that are relevant and then just make up shit to cause trouble.

Enroth is not only goign supplant Miller as the teams #1 goalie next season, he's going to be president of Sweden!

It's comical.

Schopp has been shitting on Miller for the last 2 years, even throughout last season's awesome year. He's the main proponent of the 'you don't need a franchise goalie' theory which is pervading hockey talk, forgetting that correlation doesn't imply causation.

Just because teams have won a Cup with average goaltending doesn't mean they WILL win a Cup with average goaltending.

Like I said, he starts something so that there's something to talk about for himself, even though there's plenty of other news that has already been started that could be talked about.
