Lalime only exists to cover for an injured Miller, wake up the team with a goalie swap, and provide a warm body in morning practices.

Miller and Enroth form a 1/1A goalie situation. You will have two interchangable starting goalies to work with. If one goes down, you have the other to work with. I rather have that situation than to lose one or the other, especially for a few years.

Not a chance. 1/1A assumes the talent of the the two goalies is close to equal. That's just not the case.

Give Miller 65 starts a year. Give Enroth the other 17. Stick to a schedule so Miller gets regular breaks, and Enroth doesn't sit for weeks between starts.

That will work for everyone.

Wrong you are. Ruff, if he remains the coach, will play the goaltender he thinks is the best at that time. If both are very good, which Miller and Enroth are, they will both see playing time. When it comes down to the playoffs, you will have comfort knowing you net is well protected.

Enroth has played what, 3 or 5 games this year? That's hardly enough time to determine if an AHL goalie is good enough to supplant or rival a reigning Vesina winner, no matter how average his year has been. I don't see Ruff playing an upstart prospect over Miller in many situations through his own choosing. I think we'd see the same amount of starts for miller, but we'd be angry about why Enroth isn't in the AHL.

Enroth is almost Miller at the start of 2005-2006. Think two starting goaltenders and a backup for two-thirds of the season.

At the start of 05-06, Miller had 18 NHL games. Enroth has 7.

Enroth has played well, but has done nothing to make a legitimate claim to sharing time with a Vezina winning goaltender.

I know, because if we weren't already sick of him enough, he uses "stats--gasp!".

It's funny, because his argument against Miller isn't really that strong, as the article pretty much says not to worry, he's just having an off-season.

You leave me unconvinced in thought still.

Be it an off season or not, Miller isn't playing well lately, and it has been pretty consistent. We are making a playoff push and every game is important. Enroth should be getting more starts. Up to this point, he has played well enough to justify it - he came up huge last night. I'm not saying he should be our starter right now, but with 27 games left, I'd like to see him get about 7. If he continues playing well.

Up to this point? He's played one game in the NHL in the past 4 months. One game. What "up to this point" are you referring to?

Kind of relevant to our mini-Mike Schopp discussion, something awesome my buddy just said:

"Schopp could win the lottery, live on an exotic island with the hottest women in the world as his sex slaves and he'd still bitch about his horrible life and why that island's sports teams are the worst he's ever seen."

Wow I can't believe we are having a discussion about Enroth and Miller. Miller is the starting goalie and will continue to be. End of Story. Enroth will back Miller up next year it's that easy.

I posted that yesterday.

There have been comments about Enroth battling Miller for the starting position in this thread.

I will now scout out the nearest living thing and kill it.

That's what was supposed to happen with Lalime. Years ago.

It probably would have ended being that way if Lalime had more wins.

How is he wrong? It's too early to be so presumptuous about Enroth's situation and how many games he and Miller will split if/when he becomes our backup next year.

Unless Miller struggles with injuries, I don't think I can see Miller splitting that much amount of the workload with his backup.

I should have known. Sabretooth tigers were always known to be the biggest stoners out of all the prehistoric animals.
