Sabres played like shit. Should have won, could have won (if they decided to actually show up), but didn't. Simple as that. Tim Connolly should never dress in another game again because he does more harm than good.

I thought Connolly had an ok game actually. Could have been 3-0 but he saved one.

What about when he made the ill fated pass that lead to their shorthanded goal? Granted, Leopold played that incredibly poorly and Miller was out way too far, but he turned it over at the blue line. Sekera was a lot worse than Connolly in this game. So I'll give him that.

Ah, I think it is safe to say a lot of the boys took the night off. Coupled with the leafs being all over us at times like a wet blanket, you can't do much.

Vanek was in the area and not helping as well.

Except not take the night off. I think I'm even more frustrated because I blew all sorts of money for 3rd row seats. And I took my friend, who's home life is falling apart right now, in hopes they could get a win and maybe give her something to be happy about for a while at least. Not to mention we were doing so well lately and had a chance to move into 8th and blew it. It's a whole lotta stuff and it all just pisses me off so. I'll be more level headed in the morning, I'm sure.

Yeah, the one thing I noticed all night was the lack of puck support. It's one of those little parts of the game, and it was not there (among several other things).

Shit man, sorry to hear. :/

A loss is a tough one to gut for sure. As pissed as I was at the end of this one, we're still ahead of the leafs and still within striking distance of the playoffs. To finish higher than 8th is still within shot. We still have a few games in hand so we still have that to look forward too. But again, to win those games is another beast.

I think we'll be ok. Least, I hope we'll be fine... :?

Yes, it is beyond bad, it is sad. Max would have been benched within seconds after the game started for not scoring as he should have done. Oh well.

Max Afinogenov was a worthless, whiny, incompetent, selfish, uncoachable, useless bag of pucks.

Never lived up to his full potential because he could never accept the fact that others had things to tell him that would improve his game.

Good riddance.

Yeah, f there's one thing this team has done is bounce back after a horrid performance like yesterday, more so recently than the start of the season. But last night was just lazy play. Nobody was moving their feet, defensive zone coverage was terrible, puck support was terrible, powerplay, as Phil said, was powerless. They looked slow and unprepared and Toronto was all over them like flies on shit. Hopefully they can bounce back tomorrow with a big win. We need ATL to lose tonight and Carolina to lose Friday though. That way we'll have control of 8th to ourselves.

well, i certainly think a few of these shortcomings are true, i liked max during his time in buffalo. he may not have been a smart player, but at least he showed up every shift and skated hard.

I disagree Max showed up every shift. Some shifts he skated around like a lost soul too often.

oh for sure. but theres a difference between not trying, and not know what the hell was going. max sometimes suffered from the latter, but not the former. he did skate hard. and he often did it with a grin on his face. he looked like he enjoyed playing the game. and i like that in a player.

but i guess he and kotalik HATED each other. not sure why, just something i read.

Never said he didn't skate hard.

I said he didn't listen to those trying to help him, and he ended up hockey tarded because of it.

Skating hard alone doesn't win my affection when you refuse to be a team player.

If Max skated harder, he would have been in better condition to keep up with others and know what all was going on.

Time to get ready for the Blues.
