I highly doubt RJ will be going anywhere. He is one of the pillar's of this franchise.

I am freaking stoked. This guy rocks. He is so down to earth. This could very well be the man that makes this team a Stanley Cup winner.

No.

Right, Mike Lange is a pillar of the Pittsburgh penguins franchise, and when FSN dismissed him because he cost too much money the Penguins hired him to broadcast the games on the radio side like he used too. So get used to the idea of turning your TV volume all the way down and your radio all the way up. FSN controls all of those contracts, Pegula can't do anything about it if they want to cut costs and hire some hack to take his place. Same with Harry Neil and whomever else they don't want to pay.

you tell Rj to take the contract... broadcast both on Radio and TV, as they do now and you make up the diff in his radio contract.... or through a consultant to the team agreement, etc... always ways around bullshit when your worth BILLIONS... so NO... I highly doubt RJ is going anywhere until RJ himself says he wants to go somewhere....

Right, I've been through all of this before. One of the Penguins owners is probably worth as much as Pegula if not more, Lemieux and Lange are great friends who have worked together since he was 18, he's a city icon who sold the game when nobody wanted anything to do with it, he's in the Hall of Fame, he's irreplaceable, he'll stay as long as he wants too, and then he's fired because FSN isn't happy with him or wants to save money or both. They don't do the radio, IF FSN takes over the radio side is dissolved, they don't have a hand in radio at all. The team can flip the radio bill. So RJ will be TV only or radio only.

Pegula is worth more than Burkle, Pensfan. Do your homework before spouting off.

Really? Like I even give a crap how many BILLIONS those guys are worth. But since you have the numbers readily available why don't you tell us how much each gentleman is worth, Chaphil. The point--as is usually overlooked by you--is that being able to afford the broadcaster in questions salary was as irrelevant then as it would be if this theological discussion ever became a reality.

Yeah, yeah I'm just giving you guys a heads up, go ahead and bitch like yinz always do. We signed petitions, we boycotted FSN, and we wept in the streets with guns to out heads. FSN gave not a single fuck.

Considering we're not discussing religion, I don't know why you're using the word theological.

As for numbers, Burkle - 3.2B as reported by Forbes. Last I saw, Pegula is worth 4.7B

Also, since the MSG deal doesn't expire until 2016, RJ will have retired before a channel that doesn't exist supposedly fucks him over.

Also, you're a meathead. Back to being blocked.

Well i guess since Chaphil hopes RJ will retire by then there's nothing to worry about.

The guy is old, and is already skipping the west coast trips. There's no reason to believe he will be re-upping in 5 years.

Terry Pegula is #110 on the Forbes 400 list with a net worth of $3B. Burkle is #98 at $3B . $200M difference in those circles is meaningless.

There will be no changes to the current arrangement with MSG. They signed a 10 year agreement in 2006. Under that deal, the Buffalo Sabres handle gameday production, and provide all the on-air talent. MSG can not dictate who calls games. They simply carry and transmit the signal.

News flash : Just because one set of events occurred in Pittsburgh with one outcome doesn't mean the same outcome happens here under completely different circumstances.

RJ will retire on his own in another season or 3. He won't be fired.

Well then everybody take my advice and count your blessings, MSG is a good deal regardless of whatever production value is put on the cheap.

And i hope RJ gets the respect he deserves and isn't made to wallow on radio like the Penguins allowed to happen.

MSG isn't a horrible deal, no. The only downside is the fact that they get in cock fights with providers all the time, but that's becoming the norm in the biz.

anyone who thinks RJ is going to be gone is smoking fucking crack, he is not going anywhere, and i would bet that Pegula loves RJ, and if time comes when RJ wants to retire that pegula would try to get him to stay, as long as there is a breath in RJ'S body, he will want to call games
