I hope this doesn't get everyone riled up, but is it coincidental that this is day 1, or is this the first act of "meddling". Myself, I think the owner will meddle, because he has the right to. I know I would. I would have been like, "ok, who's our captain"? The next question would have been, "why am I paying him 3.5 to be our 8th defensemen"? Looks like Lucy might have had some splainin' to do already.

This could be a move that Darcy wanted to make, and was told he couldn't by previous ownership.

Maybe we should wait to get some facts before we just assume that there is meddling.

Some 'facts' are never known. In fact, most of them never are known. I think it's reasonable to think this is more than a coincidence though. It is a move we all know should have been taken care of long ago. I was taking this as more of a positive than a troll. Looks like this guy means business, and I'm glad he started at square one on day one.

I think Myers needs to play better before he gets a letter. As far as young lead-by-example guys are concerned, I think Mike Weber might not be a bad choice.

He hasn't even played a full season in the NHL. Let's wait before we crown him our next captain (Or assistant captain).

This is something that should not have been done a long time ago, and the reason Regier did it now is likely because the other 29 GMs are done kicking the tires and have moved on to other spare parts off the scrap heap. So if you aren't playing him, and you can't trade him, you waive him. It's kind of pathetic to start criticizing new ownership over a no impact, no brainer type of personal move. Darcy will address the move if asked soon enough.

Oh so you're saying that Mr. Pegula was being critical of Regier for not doing that sooner, I see. The way you worded it before was confusing. As for that, my prior comments stand, I think this is simply the time of the year when they hoped to be able to trade him, but nobody needs him. So there you go. If they waived him 2 months ago I would have been pissed that they didn't try to get something for him at the deadline.

BTW I don't do drugs, unless you count your moms butt. LOL
