Sounds to me like the primary point of the trade was to acquire Brent Sopel. Because I mean, c'mon, Nigel Dawes lol.

One sided trade for sure. Habs got a nice bruiser in Sopel as they needed some size and grit. That has been the story for them the last few seasons; that they were just too small and lacked in the physical department.

Someone on Twitter said Sopel fills the role that was vacated by Josh Gorges season-ending injury. I agree, and it reinforces my belief that Sopel was the whole point of this trade.

God damn, thats right. I forgot they were playing the leafs. There's a team that crept up out of no where. Need some big help on that end of the standings now. Cats and Devils ain't far off either.
