Yes they have been doing a good job this year, but Fluery has been great this year also, a .921 sv% is not something to overlook either. And their penalty kill has been amazing this year, their PP sucks as it has been lately for them.

I just don't see the Pens as the greatest of teams as everyone seems to think they are just because of Crosby.

Fluery hasn't been all that great in his last two playoff performances, a .908 when they win the cup and an .891 in the 13 games last year they played. It's all gonna come down to basically. Even if he plays lights out, I still don't see the offensive support without Malkin to get them through some teams in the East.

if you say a teams defense is one of the reasons they wont win, when the opposite is the truth, you should be prepared for that sort of response.

so the teams defense is improved, and their goalie is playing up to his skill level, you wanted to use the defense as a crutch? poor showing.

and crosby can carry a team if he needs to.

Egh Skyline is probably bitter because the Pens beat the absolute ever loving shit out of the Canes two years ago, but I can't disagree. All he said was that crosby's return doesn't automatically make them a contender, which I would tend to agree with.

The defense is a different story though. I don't think they're worse off on D than they were.

I don't care if the Pens beat the Canes, Malkin was phenomenal in that series.

Because I defend having a team here does not mean I automatically root for the Canes.
