The act of not making moves at all fails to win you Stanley Cup championships. In fact, that was evident in our 2006 cup run.

It is possible to make very good moves and compete at a high level with budget constraints. Look at the Ottawa Senators in 2003.

We know there are moves to be made for critical roles and depth positions. We have the players to move and a budget to work with. We do not have eternity to sit back and do nothing.

I think many of us know when trades should be made. It is better to make them sooner than later; otherwise, someone misses out on making smart trades.

That is correct. No one thought of players getting injured after the deadline. Had we acquired one or two rental players for depth in exchange for Noronen, I think we would have done better against the Hurricanes.
