No as you can apparently never "rough" a tough guy? Its really hard to take this league seriously sometimes. I mean how do you explain things like that to people you want to bring into your sport? If that's the case, then just start throwing rights, Patty.

What kills me is that the league is so sensitive about this issue that no one is allowed to say anything about it. Even a slight mention of the reffing of a game will get you a $25K fine....hitting a player dirty...less. Laughable.

If you're not into hockey and the reffing is so different depending on what team you're playing, where you're playing, and the player involved in the action...its too much information for a casual fan to digest. I get that the strike zone differs, but once its established in a game, its established.

How does this league not look like the WWE to a person who doesn't follow it?

I agree with all of us. I've been trying to get 2 out of my 3 roomates to understand hockey, and they've been watching the Sabres this season. They don't understand plays like that, and they're right.

The Rangers are whooping the Capitols 5-0. I love it....doesn't help us in the standings, but I love the part of the season when the Caps stop playing defense...usually at the time leading up to the playoffs.

The only lame excuse I can make is that the majority of the refs are from Ontario and their teams suck, so the league gives them extra chances to win games. Its just the Sabres luck that they play in a division with 2 Ontario teams in it.

In Montreal its worse as you are given 2 penalties a game you haven't earned. You just have to live with it and play through it.
