Yeah, I was just saying that there are so many components when it comes to the whole waiver process, and it gets confusing and it's easy to mix up the rules depending on the scenario.

Yea you're right, if he is on the active roster for 30 days he has to clear again or plays in 10 games, otherwise he won't have to clear again.

Blue Jackets have claimed Rivet off re-entry waivers.

That surprised me, I thought he would be going to the Sharks.

Good for him though, I'm glad to see he'll still be playing in the NHL.

Does anyone know how much official cap room that leaves us? I'm coming up with some raw numbers.

It's like probably near the 800K mark. Take his 3.5 million, and divide it by 82 games, multiply it by 21 for remaining games, then cut it in half.

I believe that's how much cap space it leaves us with.

But for next year, it's 3.5 million freed.

We had like 5 million in cap space this year. And with Roy on LTIR we should of got some space from that.

Since Rivet went through reentry waivers, we have to pay half of his salary still this year, or half of what is remaining.

The Sabres, after Rivet's move, can absorb $21M in cap hits for the rest of the year. Impressive number.

The Jackets? Sweet. That means I can see him play when I go watch the CBJ 3 or so times a year.

I always liked Rivet and the type of game he played, he also showed nothing but class the entire time he was with the Sabres. I hope he gets the chance to play, whether it's with Columbus or elsewhere.
