There is a serious epidemic on this team of not finishing checks.

They aren't going to be afraid of us if we don't throw the body.

Look at the forecheckers in overtime. No finish and no backchecking. Bad.

Hopefully this was the game for Timmah/Neids in a Sabre uniform...

Agreed. Failure to move them is epic fail for Regier again.

Meh, shootouts aren't in the playoffs.

Vancouver has lost 5 of them this year. They don't matter.

That second point was necessary to get us closer in the playoff pack.

I'm not criticizing you but how do we move Neids at the deadline exactly?

The only possible thing is waivers.

That second point was necessary to get us closer in the playoff pack.

We're 2 points out on Carolina with 2 games on hand, we moved closer with one extra point.

They lost without gaining a point, we made up ground.

Nothing this team does makes you happy. They played one hell of a game but went into their defensive shell against one of the best teams in the league. It can work against some of the eastern teams, but not Detroit.

The fact that they had open passes to get it out of the zone in the 3rd, and instead chose to throw it into the air to the wings defense core is not a great move.

And that is why I hate the defensive shell play, we were outplaying the wings when we chipped the puck up to the blueline and through center ice.

I told my wife with 8 minutes left that I gave Buffalo a 40% chance of winning while they kept playing chuck-the-puck. Isn't that on Lindy to tell them to keep charging up ice for scoring chances? Skate hard and go up 2-0, play soft and "safe" and take SOG until eventually one goes in. It doesn't take Nostradamus to figure out how this game would end.

2 points back of Carolina with two games in hand. I'll take it.

About 5 minutes into the 2nd period, they were clearly gassed, and just holding on for dear life. I don't want to give them an excuse on the back to back, but that had to factor in.

All in all, take the point and move on. They got no help from the officials either. VanMassenhoven ignored 3 blatant penalties right in front of us. There were a lot more than 3 penalties all night, that's for damn sure.

Detroit is the best road team in the NHL at 21-8-2, so getting the point is nothing to sneer at.

I don't have a problem with only one point tonight, mainly because the Canes lost tonight in regulation so we still moved within 2 points of them.

Detroit is a great team and will be contending for another cup, we honestly should be thankful Miller was in net for this or it could have been a very ugly game. The Wings don't need a good goalie, not with their puck possession game they have.

And probably kind of dumb.

Drew was probably chomping at the bit to get a chance to put a puck past his brother.

There are several things this team does that does not make many of us happy up to the Pegula ownership. The ship is getting righted.

Maybe Drew Miller is being shopped around.

Well if the ref wouldn't give Kaleta a penalty every time he hit someone, he probably would hit more. It's bullshit. Other players can dirtily hit people without a penalty but when Kaleta does it YOU HAVE to give him a penalty.
