This move for Boyes doesn't seem bad. I was never a fan of Torres or Moore. I'm not a fan of sending a second round pick away when the best time to rebuild this team is thru the draft. Me personally I like a couple of talented Centers in this upcoming draft in Nugent Hopkins and Strome.

This years draft class is pretty weak compared to the last 3

Zubrus, Moore, and Torres were all pending UFAs. Boyes has a year left on his contract, with more talent than those other players. It's a much better deal even if Boyes doesn't score 30 goals next season. If he contributes this season and nets 20+ next season a 2nd rd pick is a total steal.

I agree but their isn't much in this free agent class this year either.

Good move. I would say he is our 2nd line center, or First, doesn't matter at this point with only him and Connolly really.

And this makes Hecht back at LW, which is where he needs to play. He always is terrible when forced to play center.

As long as the paperwork is filed by 3pm it's good. It takes an hour or so for it to be approved and then announced.

Well here's hoping that Darcy unloads Connolly during the draft. Please let's not start next year with Connolly on the roster.

I'm not sure it's in this thread yet. It's what Ruff said today.

I never checked to see what Ruff said about the trade, I just saw that he was traded there last night, and that's all I knew about it.
