It seems to me that starting off as a winger on a new team might be a tad easier (simpler?) than jumping in at center. Especially since you haven't been PLAYING as center in who knows how long...

Of course I might be full of it too seeing as I've never played.

:shifty:

Nope, you're right, playing center has the most responsibility, and jumping in at wing will give you a better feel of the system first before you switch to center.

Didn't Boyes and Connolly play Juniors together? Maybe being on the same team again will give both players a new spark.
I'm one of the few people who doesn't want to see Connolly anywhere other than on the Buffalo Sabres. The guy has loads of talent.

boyes is best as a winger. i think i saw hes won.. 27% of his faceoffs this season? we already complain enough about faceoff losses.

Everyone is better at wing than center. Wing is so much easier than center.

It's 41%, but yeah, still bad. Actually makes the 3rd worst Sabres (47% as a team) worse if he takes draws.

Just looking at some numbers, he was okay at draws up until a couple of seasons ago, so maybe that's around the time his boss sent him to the wing full time. He's versatile, I'm sure he could play center again just fine, and maybe this summer they will tell him to come into camp focused on being a full time center again. Maybe not. Maybe it depends on what Connolly shows the upgraded mgmt team over the rest of this season.

BTW what is up with the urine fetish talk surrounding TC, I assumed it was some internet joke that I was out of the loop on but now I'm wondering if the poor guy is suffering from some kind of social trauma, like I did when my neighbors found out that I was humping sleeping bags and putting them in their trash. Although, I still didn't play hockey like a vagina.

how about this: let connolly take the draws and afterwards shift back to right wing and let boyes take over the center position? If I remember correctly, Connolly used to play on the right wing, too. that would give us vanek connolly/boyes on the first line. and my, if those catch fire that would be an awesome line...

They did, played on Erie together.
