Sabres ice is pretty atrocious. Pegula should look into upgrading the refrigeration system.

I don't think the ice had anything to do with the 5 goals scored tonight.

The ice looked fine, no one was really losing it out there and the puck was sliding smoothly.

I thought the ice was bad but not bad enough to influence puck movement.

Ice also isn't an excuse for not taking advantage of the PP opportunities ...

Totally on board with this! That would be a fantastic move this offseason.

all i saw were people losing edges and starting slow. the first five minutes of the game i said the ice was crap.i don't think the puck was affected like it was a game in the middle of may, but it certainly wasn't ice you typically see in February.

eh, its not the refrigeration system that needs replacing. alot of arenas with great ice have older systems (edmonton)... i always saw the sabres in the middle of the pack, and they say the difference between like 6th best ice surface, and 22nd best ice surface is minimal.

Back on Boyes...like someone said, he's a bit shaky right now, but he's still making great plays and has set up an office for himself quite nicely. His backchecking and willingness to go into the corners is also better than STL fans made it out to be.

I've heard RBC has the best ice in the NHL before as well.

Whatev.

I'd be really curious to know how many players have gone to FBV as well.

I have to ship my blades to fucking NH to get it though, which is kind of a pain in the ass. I love it though.

Edmonton is voted best ice by the players every year. How is that middle of the pack exactly?

Really? Damn, that really sucks. I get it done either at the skate shop or the rink I go to all the time.

Not likely to happen, if they want to make it cool faster then you're talking about adding compressors, which in an ice rink are like HUGE, so it might not be doable.

It's not about the refrigeration units, it's about the humidity in the air and the heat in the air.

The refrigeration units are fine, and you don't just put 2 inches of water and let it freeze for an ice rink, you do it layer by layer.

I'm from Pennsylvania, how the hell would I have become a Sabres fan if I didn't live only an hour in a half away from Buffalo then?

I would most likely be a Canes fan if I didn't move to NC but was born here instead.

Plenty of people from the Buffalo/Western NY area have moved to the Raleigh area, basically the entire upper bowl were Sabre fans at the game last night and a lot of seats in the lower bowl were filled with Sabre fans too.
