Okay, well you guys don't have to agree with me, I'm entitled to my own opinion, and my opinion is that Boyes's breakout decisions aren't all that great. Forecheck? Great. Backcheck? Awesome. Everything else except his breakout? Amazing. I've said it at least 3 times in this thread, that I was only talking about his breakout and you're still telling me I'm completely wrong about his backchecks. I'm not even talking about backchecks. BREAKOUT ONLY.

Well most people disagree, so why are you complaining?

I'm not complaining, you guys can go ahead and disagree, it's just everyone was talking about the backcheck, while I was talking about his breakout. (4 times and counting)

I had no choice to move, I was 13 and my mom had a friend who lived here so we moved to NC.

Been and Bills fan and Sabres fan before we moved.

Your 1st post commented on his defense. Backechecking is part of that, and that's why it was brought up.

Alright, you've got me on that, but then I clearly said in many other posts that I was talking about his breakout and people still bitched about me saying he is a good backchecker.

I'm also pretty sure most players have gone to the FBV sharpening now as it's sooooooo much better.

Actually FBV sucks. Can't turn nearly as sharp and stopping is tough as your blade slides out on you. Not to mention that it ruins the profile of your blade. Every team and player has tried FBV. Not one team uses it adn there might be a handful of players who use it but highly unlike. 29/30 teams use a blademaster machine and the maximum edge skate sharpening system. Only one team uses a different sharpening machine(blackstone machine, team might be FLA) but i'm pretty sure they also use the maximum edge system.

You're kidding me right, when I first switched to FBV stopping was weird, but since that day it's just as easy as it was before, my turns feel so much sharper as there is way more bite on the ice, and my stride is way smoother then it was before.

I'd love to see the stats on players using which either the ROH or the FBV. I like FBV way better, if you don't that's personal preference, but to me, nothing beats it, just takes a skate to get used to it.

I've tried it, and like you say its personal preference. But I know for a fact that all the players tried it. Dany Heatley said he love's it when he's going straight. He feels faster and he said once you get used to the slipping its not bad. But he still went back to the other way. This FBV sharpening has been around since the 70's, it's nothing new.

Boyes gets on the scoresheet again, with 2 assists. :D

4 pts in 3 gp as a Sabre. He also buzzes around the net every shift and is disproving grumbly Blues fans that say he's soft and won't go in the corner. I'm loving him so far for the 2nd Darcy gave up for him. I want him to be consistent though - the ultimate knock on his NHL career so far.

But all Darcy got at the deadline was an underachieving winger when we needed a top center! Darcy sucks, and so does Boyes, and you'll all hear it as I dive off the ledge!!

So, Boyes is at 2 goals and 2 assists in the 3 games played. Add in some decent physical play, and a lot of hustle... I'd say I'm pretty happy with this trade (So far). He reminds me of a more skilled Matt Ellis.

In all fairness, some of Darcy's 2nd round deadline guys have been flops. The least people could do is give it a few games before they bitch though. Luckily, most of those type posters have moved on.

Boyes is the hardest shootin-ist wing in the LEAGUE.
