So Sekera can magically skate through solid objects in people, he got hit trying to enter the zone and lost the puck.
You make your decisions on the spot, and sometimes they don't always work out.
It would be awesome if he could do that but I'll settle for some none noob hockey decisions. He pulled up before the blue line with the puck because he was worried about getting demolished. As a result he feebly pushed the puck into the zone, flat-footed his forwards, turned it over, trapped himself, and nearly cost his team their 1 goal third period lead. You got guys changing, forwards trying to time the dump in to build momentum INTO the o-zone, and it's his job to gain that line. If he's going to lead the charge then don't slow it down at the line, dump it hard and skate by that dude who's lining you up. Draw an interference call at least or take the hit get up and get back in the play.
I say let him skate with the puck, that's a great thing, it's awesome to see that he has that ability and confidence in it. But he if ever wants to be a 20-25 minute top 4 blue liner he's gotta use his head. He easily gained the red line, all he had to do was dump it in. But he decided to make a bold, risky play at the blue line. That's not a smart move considering the score and the time left, but the part that really bugged me was the indecision. If you're going to lead the attack then DO SO. GO all out with the decision you can't commit halfway, that's why the mistake was made.
